Xbox 1.6 xbox Crashing everytime certain player drops bomb

We play a coop splitscreen save file on our Xbox. Pre 1.6 there seemed to be a glitch, but it was not problematic. A bomb was dropped right next to player A and player A would take zero damage. No matter the bomb, no damage was ever taken. Player B, however, would take normal damage resulting from close bombs. Nothing else seemed to be different about the game.

We just started the 1.6 update when it dropped, and soon learned that any bombs dropped by or near player A crash the game. If player A tries to drop any bomb, the game crashes before anything can happen. If player B tries to drop any bomb, the bomb goes off as normal. And if player B tries to drop a bomb near player A, the game instantly crashes.

I have been experiencing this exact same thing on my and my girlfriends save. Playing on Xbox series S.

Also, the same happens with me when placing fire works, split screen multiplayer.

We’re also experiencing this issue. 2 player split-screen on Xbox Series X.

My fiance and I are having the same problem on switch coop. Any bombs I place immediately crash the game. It’s making the skull caverns near impossible unless I spam staircases… super bummed it paused our playthrough
