Switch 1.6.9 lag when fishing single player

i’m playing 1.6.9 on switch single player. with the update, i’ve noticed the lag when fishing. for me it seems happen the most when the fish bites quickly after the bobber hits the water, and it freezes the start of the mini game for a couple seconds.

however i have had the minigame freeze at random times for a couple seconds while reeling in the fish. if i find any patterns to it, i’ll come back and add more info.

I'm also experiencing this on Switch on 1.6.9 -- sometimes when the fishing mini game starts, I can't move the slider at all and other times the slider moves randomly. Usually leaving the current area fixes it the next time I try to fish.
