I have had Maru at 9 hearts for 2 weeks in-game now and still have not been able to trigger the 8 heart event. I go in the carpenter shop multiple times every day while she is there and it has never triggered. Is there another prerequisite for this heart event?

you can enter maru's room from the outside even if you dont have 2 hearts with her. you cannot leave the room through the inside door. example: https://imgur.com/a/kQ33eqm no mods were used.
