Beach Farm!

I'm so excited about the update and my new beach farm. I also chose remixed bundles, so my game is taking a new direction right from the beginning!
The farm is arranged differently! The pet area and warp shrine are to the southeast of the farmhouse. I got a crate! And I caught a mussel with my fishing pole!
I got the fish farmer bundle instead of the animal bundle in the pantry! And the rare crops instead of quality crops.
My farmhouse didn't come with any fireplace or lamp, so I put a torch in the middle, which looks goofy! Not a design choice I would usually make, hahaha!
And only halfway through spring, I already have a heart with Caroline. I'm going to plant a lot of tea since they don't need watering.
And I sat on the swings!

Nice to see the mobile players having fun, logged on as soon as it released but sadly all my saves were wiped for some reason or another, guess I need to start over.

New settings are awesome too, screenshot button finally and the ability to switch to a backup without going to the main menu as well as reverting to the last day instead of last save.

I'm lucky enough (for once) to have very few bugs with the 1.5 update on mobile and thus, I have a lot of fun with this update. I can now share my save files from my computer to my mobile (back and forth) and this is really nice! Me and my children are really enjoying this new update.

Concerned Ape had tweeted that android users would have to do a one time file transfer. I was worried that I don't know how to do that. Fortunately the instructions popped up automatically when I opened the updated game. I had to go through the steps twice. Did it not work that way for you?

I’m an iOS user who shouldn’t have had to do the same. It’s ok though, only ~50 hours of work, nothing much :)

I've played up to fall on my new beach farm and having so much fun!
Since I got the fish farmer bundle, I built a fish pond right away. I have rainbow trout in there!
I didn't get the animal bundle, or the one with the duck feather. I will still need the chef's truffle. And I got the home cook bundle! So I have one chicken and one cow for now.
To do the 100 flour on the beach farm, I decided to let the rain water as much wheat as I can plant. Without sprinklers, and early in the game when energy is tight, this is a really relaxed way to get a lot of wheat and hay. You only need 4 rainy days spanning summer and fall. I'm going to build a mill. I could have just bought the flour, but I'm letting the game guide me to make this playthrough new and different.
I thought the update was supposed to include a way to turn in bundles of different quality? Or for bundles requiring multiples, that you could add as you go? I haven't figured out how to do that.

I've added items to bundles with different qualities, I'm pretty sure, but I wasn't able to add a partial stack of wood, for example. For that, I had to wait until I had enough to do it all at once.

1.5 adds the ability for you to donate different quality versions of the same item. For example, there's a bundle that requires 10 wheat. So you could bring 6 normal quality, 3 silver quality, and 1 gold quality to donate the item. However, you will still need to bring the full amount required at once (in this case, all 10). But you can't bring 5 wheat one time and then return late with the other 5.

I suppose you don't have the opportunity to make a rain totem or you would have done so. If you are not too far in Summer, chances are good that you still get one before Summer 28.

Congratulations! That was pretty fast, too.

I don't think I could handle the beach farm. I need my sprinklers!!
It's actually really fun to try the limited sprinklers. I have 18 quality sprinklers in the soil area, about 150 crop tiles. Plus the greenhouse. It's plenty for a less crop focused playthrough. You could also upgrade your watering can or use retaining soil.

Instead of crops, I've planted over 100 tea saplings. I also have 5 fish ponds, a large mahogany grove, and lots of grass for my animals. This would be a great farm choice for tons of animals, fruit trees, syrup, or honey.

Every Summer 13 and Summer 26 is guaranteed to be a thunderstorm, so that's also an option. (Also, I think you might have put this in the wrong thread?)

I was replying to the post of PoppyForPenny right above mine where it was said that "Just need a rainy summer day to catch a red snapper", hence my reply about rainy/stomy days in Summer.

I am in late spring, year 2. It's kinda funny, that silly red snapper has never been the last thing I need for the community center.

Of course I am looking forward to the magic ink quest and the movie theater. But the coolest thing, is usually I would be near the end of this game. But knowing a little about ginger island, I think I'm not even halfway!

Oh right, I was thinking of that other thread where someone mentioned upgrading the watering can, but that makes more sense lol

I finished the community center and now I'm fixing the boat! I still need some iridium. I'm waiting for the secret note for level 100 in the skull cavern, which will be soon!

In the meantime I'm trying to get the red and gold dwarf scrolls. I'm also saving up for the furniture catalog. I got the extra rooms on the house, and I'm going to have so many fish tanks!

I'm a little nervous about ginger island. It seems a lot different than the rest of the game, with a lot of puzzles, and unlocking as you go. I'm also a little worried about maintaining two whole farms. When they added the airplane and island farm on Farmville, things started to go downhill quickly! What is it going to be like? Will I be able to figure it out? Is it fun?
