So this literally happened 20 minutes ago:
I had warped to my tree farm in the Desert and had over 2000 wood available if the trees could all be chopped. I had come in with over 200 Pale Broths and an Iridium trash can. I wanted to hurry and chop as much wood as fast as I could so that I could afford Robin's final Community upgrade. I had my Pine Cones at Slot 3, Tree Fertilizer at Slot 4, and my Iridium Axe (Shaving Enhancement) at Slot 5. I had a good system revolving around pausing the game with the "E" key after felling every tree to quickly plant a Pine Cone and fertilize it. I was making good time until I had entered the inventory subscreen by pressing E, then all of a sudden, I accidentally clicked the mouse button and somehow selected my 200+ Pale Broths. No big deal, I thought. I'll just scramble to hit the E key to exit the inventory subscreen and then try to select my Pine Cones again to plant one. However, my left hand also slipped and I don't know what I pressed, but all of a sudden, I saw my money increase by over 12000g, but all of my Pale Broths had completely vanished!
I knew almost immediately that somehow, they had ended up in my Iridium Trash Can, even though my mouse cursor was never anywhere near that Trash Can.
I had thought about restarting the Day at that point, but I did not feel like replanting and watering 248 Cauliflower Seeds all over again, not to mention tilling and fertilizing that area too!
Did I somehow press a Shortcut Key to Trash the selected item? If that is a rebindable key, then I shall immediately edit it to something very convoluted, like CTRL-SHIFT-T
