Switch [BUG] Can’t Build Corner Room

When I try to build a corner room it wont allow me and it just says “Remove all items from the renovation area.” I’ve removed a lot of furniture from the room but it’s still not good enough.

this is single player, English, Nintendo switch version 1.5.4

The only thing I could think may be the cause is that I used to have a lot of slimes in the kids room and a least one of them went out of bounds. Since then I’ve killed all the slimes in my house (Krobus even managed to kill one that was out of bounds stuck in a wall), and I can’t hear anymore slimes that may be out of view, so I didn’t really think they’re what’s wrong, but it’s worth mentioning.

Having the same issue on the PC, without anything in either room or bedroom or any slimes. Any luck in getting this fixed?

can you add some screenshots? Might do something it worked fine for me so maybe there is a glitch somewhere

Fixed my issue, there were the decorations from Penny on the wall. I didn't realize the stars on the wall are moveable which was causing the error.
