PC [HELP] PS4 Controller not working since update

I'm playing on PC on Steam. I've never had a problem playing with a PS4 controller before, but ever since the update Stardew Valley hasn't recognised my controller. My PC is recognising the controller and it's working fine on other games. I've tried installing DS4Windows and changing the settings in Steam but nothing is working. I posted a similar thread on Steam and quite a few people replied saying they have the same issue.

If anyone can help me out that would be great. I have a disability that means it's more difficult for me to play with mouse and keyboard, and I really want to play the new update :(

Try going into your steam controller settings for stardew valley and selecting "Enable Steam Input". If that doesn't work, then try resetting to the default gamepad controller configuration by pressing shift + tab while in game to open the steam overlay, then selecting the controller configuration from the top right, then choosing "browse configs", and then finally selecting the recommended/default config.

Load a game with your mouse + keyboard, go to settings and check if the gamepad mode is set to force off.
