Issue [HELP] Game Crashing on Save - SMAPI searching for "Farmhouse4"

hello, i have been playing for a couple hours with no issues, but i just went to save on Fall 12 and the game went black & crashed. i tried to shut the game down and reopen, play through the day and save again just to see if that would work but it did the same thing. i just updated my SMAPI and all of my mods that required updating. SMAPI log attached here.

edit: thank you to user @Allayna for pointing out that SMAPI was looking for "Farmhouse4" and that seemed to lead to the crash, but i dont have any mods installed to change the layout of my farmhouse (just cosmetics), other than a cellar extension. i am not well versed in the language of the log so i'm not sure where to go from here. any help would be much appreciated!

edit: i deleted all of the files off of my computer including my saves, uninstalled and reinstalled my game, reinstalled SMAPI, and it is still crashing when i try to sleep.
here is my updated SMAPI log. please help i am lost on what to do :frown:

do you have a mod that extends the farmhouse somehow? because it's searching for 'farmhouse4'... and only farmhouse, farmhouse1, farmhouse2 are in vanilla game

nope :/ i have the Industrial Interiors mod that modifies the appearance, but nothing adding on to it or anything

that is really weird.... even googling 'farmhouse4.xnb' leads to only a couple results back in 2017! one person apparently got things fixed by editing savefile, but I have no idea what was done.

thats so weird. i have tried removing multiple mods and that wont work either. im thinking maybe reinstalling my game (i use steam) could work?

edit: it has to be something with the gamefiles because i just removed all of my mods and tried to open my save file and it still crashes when i try to go to sleep.

My game just disappeared my casked up cellar with a similar error relating to Farmhouse2. I had that day tried the new upgrade from Robin that puts a room under the bedroom.
Is it possible that (like vanilla Skyrim replacing alchemy labs with childrens rooms) you can only have one of these rooms at a time?
Even if not, I think the two new house upgrades are likely to be the cause of Farmhouse4.

Unless you can make it happen on an unmodded save, it's not really a guarantee that it's something to do with the game files, just like if your game crashed because it couldn't find a custom NPC you'd removed, it would still crash when you removed all your mods (because the problem was in your save). Can you find your saves folder and zip the whole folder for this particular save and upload it here?

There are no errors in the log you posted. There is a warning from SMAPI that the mod you are using for your farmhouse has reordered the tilesheets, which always causes problems in the farmhouse and some other maps, and will outright crash if done on the farm. Since the problems it causes on that map are not as dire as a crash, it is only informing you (and the author) about it, not doing anything about it.

Known issues that can happen with re-ordered tilesheets in the farmhouse are glitchy tiles on walls (usually above oven or top of bed before it was furniture) and the cellar stairs.

I wasn't, as far as i knew, using a mod like that, but I guess it might have been the wallpaper recolours?

Nah, this warning is specifically talking about map replacers. In this case, from your log it looks like Jen's Storage Cabins are the only farmhouse replacers installed. (The cabin maps are no longer used in 1.5+, so Jen's mod instead replaces the farmhouse, but only while you're in a cabin :D) Since the whole point of them seems to be for storage, you're probably not going to run into the usual issues, but it's a good habit for authors to be in!

The issues that re-ordered tilesheets can cause are normally much more subtle than the outright crash you get on the farm map (and even isn't obvious to most people, who are going to think "my greenhouse mod is crashing"), so SMAPI is just being helpful by pointing out when map replacers aren't following best practices. (And save you from a crash by blocking farm maps that do this entirely.)

I had narrowed the down to that mod and removed it. It actually did turn out that wallpapers were also causing an issue, because I downloaded a different interior recolour afterwards that replicated the error.

There are lots of fun and weird to track down issues from different mods and combinations of mods, but I was just specifically talking about the warning about misordered tilesheets for Farmhouse2, which is only about map replacers and not texture replacers/recolors. Interior recolors can certainly cause problems depending on how they are made and when they were last updated, just not that warning (which is itself harmless and a reminder for map authors to be more vigilant in their tilesheet names, even if it doesn't cause a problem on most maps).
