ConcernedApe's riddle

Hm, the first probably Sandy and Clint becoming marriage candidates.

The second probably a new map to explore, there are three already, main Map, Calico Desert and Ginger Island. Or, maybe one of the three-head-families in town get extended by a long lost relative... Or, the three stages of your in-game-kids are extended, so they can grow up a bit more...

No clue about the mermaid's fruit... what should that be???

They already have 4 stages... Bundle, Standing-in-crib, Crawling, and Toddler.

I think new area is more likely, or that there's a fourth farmhouse upgrade.

Now I am also wondering if the two paths are also referring to the Community Center/Joja routes
This sounds likely, considering he's already revealed that Clint and Sandy will become marriage candidates. It would be interesting to have the routes extend beyond the completion of the community center (unless there's an additional scroll/community development cost gatekeeping a new map)

The mermaid's fruit will go free - maybe the children grow up and leave home. Three will become 4 - there are 3 paths out of the farm so maybe there will be another one. And 2 paths will be extended, perhaps one where the flower dance is and maybe the one over where you get the trash book.

I think there will be a new area to travel to (we have 3: town, island and desert).

The paths to be extended could be the bus tunnel, the train tunnel, the path to the Perfection Overlook, or the bridge to the Flower Dance. Personally would love to have the train GO somewhere. ...But also could be additional advancements on Perfection and Mastery!

The mermaid one is the toughest one it's so weird. I like the ideas here of children. Maybe they won't be trapped in your house and can go to school with Penny and the other kids!

I think the guesses on the path (as Community Center & Joja) and the Mermaid's Fruit seem most likely. The "three will become four" is very difficult to figure out, though. Here are my guesses:
  1. There are three main dungeons: the Mines, Skull Caverns, and Volcano Dungeon. Perhaps there will be a fourth?
  2. There are three implemented Galaxy Weapons (Dagger, Sword, Hammer), and a fourth unimplemented Galaxy Slingshot. Will the Galaxy Slingshot be added in, and potentially be upgradeable to Infinity?
  3. There are three types of pet available now. Cats, Dogs, and Turtles. Will we get a fourth? Foxes, Otters, Owls, Parrots?
It's tough to figure this one out because I feel as if the reveal ConcernedApe is talking about has to be something relatively significant and in line with the other two guesses we have, rather than something small and unremarkable (but still appreciated!) such as adding a fourth firework color.

Don't you need a turtle licsence? (i spelt that really wrong) But wait I want a platypus for two reasons: 1. Australian representation and 2. So I can name it Perry and give it an interchangable fedora and he disappears from 10 am til 5 pm fighting the Zuzu city equivalent of Dr. Doofenshmirtz

But where? All 3 of those are in their own set of maps. Valley, Desert, Island. Could be combined with there being a new area to explore. Though I could see it appearing in the Secret Woods, or the Wizard at one point opening up a path to the west of his tower. Or, for that matter, the entrance opening up in the farm cave.

"two paths will be extended"

Sandy and Clint becoming marriage candidates seems too obvious imho. Why hint about something already known?

The next big popular one is an expansion to the Community Center and Joja Warehouse paths. I won't deny that could be cool, but I'm also quite satisfied with the way those paths wrap up currently and would prefer something else getting expanded.

Another popular one seems to be the skill trees. Each skill offers buffs that branch in two directions, and then later, depending on which buff you chose, you can choose from two more options. Maybe something will be added that makes it so when you reach mastery in a skill (level 10) you can choose from 2 more buffs depending on which of the two buffs you chose at level 10 (which of course depends on which buff you chose at level 5)? This would mean adding a total of 8 buffs to each skill for a total of 40 mastery buffs. Could be cool, but also seems kind of excessive to pile on top of the buffs that mastery already grants.

Next one I've heard is an expansion to the Farm Cave, depending on which of the two options you chose: Fruit Bats or Mushrooms. I could see this happening because, in general, once the bundles are unlocked and the farm really takes off, I just completely forget that cave even exists. Maybe there could be a farm upgrade available at Robin's to expand the size of the cave?

Now, one idea that I've personally come up with? The Secret Woods and Mutant Bug Lair. Those two areas are just begging to be extended into something more dungeon-like. The Secret Woods offers very little beyond the Stardrop you can get, the hardwood stumps, and the occasional special forage. And the Mutant Bug Lair? There's basically no reason to go there once you've grabbed the Talisman for the story progression and the Slimejack for perfection.

"three will become four"

Sooooo many possibilities have been shared out there:
  • new backpack upgrade, turning three rows of inventory into four (my personal favorite theory)
  • new farmhouse upgrade (we currently have 3, perhaps a 4th could expand the cellar?)
  • new dungeon area (Mines, Skull Cavern, Volcano, and ???) (This would be a great opportunity for the Secret Woods or Mutant Bug Lair to be expanded)
  • new general area (Valley, Desert, Island, and ???)
  • new child in Pelican Town (Jas, Leo, Vincent, and ???)
  • new livestock building (Coop, Barn, Slime Hutch, and ???)
  • new pet (cat, dog, turtle, and ???)
  • Infinity Slingshot (the three current being Blade, Gavel, and Dagger)
Some ideas of my own:
  • new warp statue in the valley (Farm, Mountain, Beach, and then Cindersap Forest? A forest statue would be great for getting to things like the Wizard Tower or Spring Onion patches)
  • new Dark Shrine in the Witch's Hut (Selfishness, Memory, Night Terrors, and ???)
  • Mayor Lewis will finally come out and marry Marnie, turning their family of three into a family of four (silly idea)
  • Caroline will get pregnant and have a kid (Pierre, Caroline, Abigail, and ???) (also a bit silly)
"the mermaid's fruit will go free"

General consensus seems to be the player's kids being able to grow up and move out (the fruit of the marriage going free), but tbh that seems pretty strange to me, considering all of the other kids that never grow up and all of the people in general that never seem to get older. Yet at the same time, I can't really think of anything else it could be, and there's apparently an interview out there where CA said he acknowledges that a lot of fans have been asking for farm kids to have more to them and that he wants to do something like that, so maybe?

Yes, but that's the same as the process to adopt a cat or dog beyond the original first one Marnie offers to you. I like the idea of a platypus too! Especially since we already have the Fedora hat. Also, your spelling of 'licence' wasn't too far off! It's one of those words that varies between US English and Commonwealth English, so I'm used to spelling it 'license' while you as an Australian would most likely spell it 'license', at least for the noun form.

I agree, it could very well be combined with another area to explore. Or the Quarry Mine (and the Quarry, maybe?) gets reworked and expanded. The fourth dungeon could really be anywhere, but I think it fitting into another area is the most likely guess given what we know. Or maybe it expands the Lewis' Basement dungeon and you have to battle a whole host of Lucky apparel, including Lucky Shirts, Socks, Shoes, Vests, and Hats! That suggestion is more humorous than serious, but it does amuse me.
