1.6 Update What happened in your game today?

I had originally wanted to just repeat floor 1 to get stone (as my mines are set to dangerous and the stone is harder to mine there than in the skull cavern)
Actually I like spamming floor one of the dangerous mines for stone. The "dangerous" rocks that look like little meringues drop 2-4 stone per (just skip the rest), and there's a much better chance of getting lots of them than even one big 10-stone rocks when the mines are normal. I get an average of 30 and a high point of 50 stone per reload, and you don't ever have to walk far ;).

Today I switched my sturgeon pond to Legend II (which I'd been keeping for a year at least!), and I plan to switch the rest also - I want to try the challenge of catching as many as I can the next time the quest comes up. Changed my profession to Pirate to better fish for animal crackers for the ponds and to round out my barn animals for completeness.

My slimes are happy! I had no idea how quickly they really can multiply. Although, the blue slimes are lagging behind the red ones, I think because the male blue slimes are casting eyes over the fence at the female red slimes. Every time I walk by the females are jumping at me but the males are on the other side looking besotted 😂

Put down an additonal 15 dehydrators in the dining area to do something about the common mushroom problem. The problem may not be common, but the mushrooms are. Too many of them for my mushroom/roe shed to handle, since purple mushrooms have priority there. Going through 80 common mushrooms per day will help.

Got another Extended Family quest, and waited one day to accept it, not wanting to start it at 11 pm. 9 more Legend II for the smokers. Might've got more if I hadn't prioritized farm chores and gathering the mushrooms and tree sap.

I should go down to Marnie's and buy myself some more goats, since I've reduced the pigs to just 5, and will likely get rid of the rest before Winter is over.

Why do you have so many shrooms?

good lord i love this so much.

Red slimes ftw
Those blue ones know what they did

Using a Deconstructor on Staircases (which you've traded for in the Calico Desert) is a good lategame option for getting lots of Stone, too.
Honestly, if it's late game i just buy em up from Robin

The mushroom logs were my big money-maker early and mid-game. Then I kept it going and traded out the spruces until the grove up at the railroad was all mystic trees. Currently the grove has 114 mystic trees, all fitted with tappers. And I guess there may be 3-4 mushroom logs per tree. The common and red mushrooms are side products, but I still want to process the common mushrooms rather than just sell them.

Once I've traded out the ancient fruit wine, the dried purple mushrooms are next, but right now they're being traded in. Year 11's seen them increase from 19 stacks to 22 stacks. The year's not over yet, but it seems unlikely that I'll get another full stack of them before Spring.

I hit a creative wall with my farm. Also, I did something out of order which I think messed up my ability to reach perfection. So I’m starting over and trying Riverland Farm for the first time (with much enthusiasm). My farmer is so slow and my tools are so bad, but just the usual early game pains.
I'm a habitual restarter myself, but I'm trying to think of a single thing that could prevent you from reaching perfection and can't come up with one.

I am in awe of the scale you've achieved! So many tappers......

Not much is happening with me while I wait for max hearts with second child so I can embiggen my house, except... I just went into the Skull Cavern in mid-afternoon, with just a handful of staircases and my fairy box - no food and no buffs - just to while away the time and slay some monsters. When I was through I noticed that I had gotten the Genie shoes!!!! Woo!!!

I dug up the golden walnut that gives you the ostrich egg before finding the secret note, and an ostrich egg never generated. I spent well over an in-game year in the volcano looking for one. Either I have angered the RNG gods, or it’s just not possible to get it if you dig before finding the note.
Yes, I was checking the rare chests in the higher levels.

Ouch. I thought you could get the raccoons to give you one, though (one of their potential rewards is any unshipped item).

Sell them. The iridium ones right away, the others have been kept until I have a full stack of them. One rule I set up for myself was to avoid selling in less than full stacks if it's mass-produced, one exception being if it's going out of production. I think that once the gold quality stack is full, I'll start selling those too right away since I don't get many enough of those to consider them mass-produced...

Those are not the big drain of resources. The mushroom logs are. With 3-4 per tree, it means there are 342-456 mushroom logs = 3420-4560 moss and hardwood had to be used... I keep one tappered oak with a mushroom log nearby on the farm to indicate when it's time to go harvest them. I was also lucky enough to get just oaks added to the bus stop in the first green rain, so I've got a total of 7 oaks with tappers. Oaks and mystic tree tappers need to be harvested with the same interval, so it's a working combination.
My goal for this save is to earn one billion G, so means of income needs to be scaled up. I'm also in late year 11, so I've had time to gather a lot of resources. Now, when the time comes to phase out the mystic trees, I'm considering replacing them and the mushroom logs with crystalariums...

Ferry's been busy. He owns every rarecrow, has every legendary fish in a pond producing roe, has two chickens and a rabbit. Got to level 25 of the Skull mines on his second visit and found an autopetter there. He had a dreadful time at his first desert festival because his pickaxe was in the shop, but managed to buy a skeletal hand from Vincent and an ancient doll from Jas. He has married Maru who has more fun dialogue than she did in 1.5. The ten heart event seemed somehow richer too. He has the galaxy sword. He is three apples away from completing the CC. We are in summer of Y2.

Dang. Question then, how did you manage that much moss? Moss is the thing that I'm consistently running short on, and that's with going out and targeting moss (even more than fiber) as much as I can every green rain. I guess you've had 5 more green rains than I have (I'm in fall year 6), but still. Is there a better moss strategy than simply de-mossing every tree I see that has moss?

Sadly, there isn't. You're pretty much doing what I've been doing. I did have ordinary trees up at the railroad at first, and that gave me a bunch more chances to gather moss.

Reached year 12, and my end-of-year sale was less impressive, much due to stuffing the stacks of ancient fruit wine into its own chest rather than down the shipping bin.

If adding those extra chests (I've got one for diamonds and one for iridium quality golden eggs too) to my "official" stack chest and earnings, I'm about at the mid-point towards my billion G earned goal.

I think that I'll start phasing out the mushroom logs and replace them with crystalariums, since that'll be a rather slow process that could take a few years to complete unless I put it at high priority.

Half my starfruit wine matured, so I took it out and decided to stick Pierre with the bill. He had to fork over somewhere around 330,000 gold - well, it IS organic wine, of course...

My farmer immediately ran to the wizard to get the gold clock.
I find the grind for the clock really boring. All I can do is sit around waiting for my kegs and casks. I'm glad I got it over with.

I'm now saving up for three obelisks I still need, but that's not that hard now that I have all my production set up.

I'm almost at the end of Year 4 in this save. The next farm I start is probably going to be the last one - at least until 1.7 is out.

Ferry completed the community center. Remixed was a nice change. He also made himself an iridium band. The legendary fish have been good providers of money. He's starting to grow some AF but those can be a grind in and of themselves. He's wondering about a barn for easy access to dairy goods. The approach in this save has been to get to Deluxe before buying the first animal because I don't want to have to think about hay beyond keeping the silo stocked.
