There is a chance to find an ostrich egg in the rare treasure chests in the volcano if you truly can't find any more journal scraps. The journal scraps shouldn't be linked to whether there are walnuts around or not, only linked to how much you do around the island (mining, shaking/cutting trees, killing monsters, etc), but I'm not certain.

OK thanks because I have been looking for one for 3 days LOL All I keep finding are JS 1. Once I bought the GWs haven't found JS 2, 3, 4 etc just 1.
None of the sites where GWs are/were located have any GWs after I bought them from the parrot.

Have you been reading the journal scraps you've found, like you read books or secret notes? If you've been finding more than one scrap, it would be strange if they all contained the same information.
ETA: If they are really all just the first journal scrap, you'd better report it on the forum for help and bug reports.

Yes I read JS 1 but thats all I keep finding is JS1 because none of the other ones unlocked after I bought the walnuts. I cannot find JS2, 3, 4 etc and I have a treasure chest full of JS 1 but nothing else and I have went to the volcano and searched the treasure chests but I haven't had any luck finding the ostrich egg.

Did you open the journal scrap and read it, or are you just putting it into a chest? I think you might have to read it (it will disappear afterward) in order to find the next one.

I never tried putting them in a chest but this could be it. You should always read the scraps ASAP.

Yes I read JS 1 but ever since I bought all 130 GWs, I can only find JS 1. JS 2, 3, 4 etc will not trigger and I have did the museum, and the parrot puzzle by placing the stones dropped on rainy days but nothing triggered and I assume it's because I bought the GWs instead of finding them.
I have dug in the spot where the ostrich is supposed to be but I get nothing. I can't find the ostrich egg and I have the ostrich incubator for completing the museum just can't get the egg.

Like I said in my first reply, you'll need to go looking for rare chests in the volcano if every journal scrap you find gives the same information as the first.
Rare chests have a 1 chance in 9 of containing an ostrich egg.

Yes I know and I've been doing that at level 9 but still can't locate the ostrich egg. Thanks for the help though. I may just start another game since now I know I need to find the GWs as opposed to buying them LOL

Or wait until you've found the journal scraps before buying the rest of the GW. I've got 6 that I really don't want to try getting normally, as I've tried and failed to the point of frustration.
