There are a few hints leading to the Wizard-is-her-father-conclusion and I think it a charming one... But on the other side, Caroline says that Abbys purple hair is dyed (kind of brown in original she says) and it's never mentioned Caroline dyed hers. So she can probably be the wizards daughter and her birth might have caused the divorce between him and the witch, since they're both seem to be much older than the rest of the villagers. He only comments maybe having a daughter in the Valley but not what age she is.

But who knows, it's left vague for a reason imho.

I thought that Jas could be his daughter? Like her hair is also dark purple, and Marnie doesn't seem like someone who would allow her to dye it at such young age. Though I don't know how to explain that she says her parents died. Maybe that's not entirely true? Or the wizard did something with her memory?

When Caroline has 8 hearts, she has this quote: “When we first moved to Pelican Town I would take secret walks to the Wizard's Tower. Don't tell Pierre, he has jealousy issues. Abigail was born about a year after we moved to Pelican Town. I wonder if she'll ever experience life outside the valley?” and a bit earlier than that:
“Abby's always had a strange interest in the occult. I'm not sure where she gets it from...”

Wizard: “You musn't tell anyone... but I have reason to believe that one of the locals is actually my daughter... I could be mistaken... It's rare, but it does happen.”

I've seen so many people debating this and I think we need a definitive answer!
Abby most likely just dyed her hair. It's fun to think about but the answer really is that Abigail is a weird gal so she eats rocks and fights in the mines. Also dying her hair is part of her rebel phase and yeah I'm pretty sure Pierre IS the father. Paternity Court would LOVE a case like this lol.

That does make sense since the pregnancy timeline matches.

That could make sense with the Wizard's dialogue about his daughter. We never know who is Jas's father or mother.

I like the idea of Abigail being the wizard's daughter because it makes Caroline more interesting to me. It's suggested that Caroline feels neglected by her husband due to dialogue tidbits. Stuff that more blatantly says this, and stuff you can interpret. Such as her Flower Dance dialogue, where she says she wishes Pierre would spend more time with their family, her included. There's a bunch of dialogue you can interpret, and I think that's deliberate. However!- I do like the idea of Caroline being the wizard's daughter. Her fixation on tea reminds me of potion brewing in a way.

I could write two backstories that fits what we know from dialogue.

In one, the wizard sleeps once with his wife (the "it's unusual but it's been known to happen" comment). She divorces him for unknown reasons, give the baby up for adoption, turns green and starts cursing the countryside for equally unknown reasons. The adoptive parents named the baby Caroline. Caroline marries Pierre, they move to the valley, Caroline has a romantic relationship with the wizard and when he realizes they may be related he breaks things off without explaining why (which is why Caroline still is worried that Pierre might get jealous if he learns that she visited the wizard in secret). And for some reason it takes the wizard 36-40+ years to realize his magic ink is missing.

In the other, Caroline and Pierre moves to Pelican Town shortly after marriage. While exploring the valley to get to know the neighbors, Caroline chances upon the wizard's tower, meets him and they start a relationship, culminating in them sleeping together once (the "it's unusual but it's been known to happen"), then breaks up with her hoping to avoid his wife finding out. The witch finds out anyway, divorces him, turns green with envy and rage and flies around trying to exact revenge. (the shrine in the shop may have protected Caroline and kept her from getting identified). Abigail gets born, and Caroline wants to keep Pierre from suspecting that he might not be the biological father. It takes 18-20+ years before the wizard realizes his magic ink is missing.

I can see why a lot of you want to think of Caroline having tried to seduce her biological father, but to me that's just ick.

I wondered if Jas might actually be his daughter. She has the same dark purple hair, and Marnie doesn’t seem like the type to let her dye it so young. But then she mentions her parents died, which complicates things—maybe that’s not the full truth, or perhaps the wizard altered her memories?
