The first one. When you were picking up this game for the first time, who did you decide to romance? Well... I went for Shane. To me now, he’s a very interesting character with a great storyline... but the marriage dialogue was a tad too depressing for me. I’ve changed a lot since then... What are your thoughts looking back? Is your first still your favorite? Do you look back and think “Why did I ever marry that person?!”?

Yes, I do. I married Sebastian the first save but I thought he was just a bit too emo for me. I know that you are a hardcore Sebastian fan, no offense to you, but I found him too emo. Anyway, I gifted him stuff I would pick up around the map (forage) and he was just so ungrateful. Like, I went out of my way to give you a gift, so don't be ungrateful. IDK but it just makes me kind of angry. Next save I picked Shane and I've been in love with him ever since :shane::heart:

The first I married was Leah... but that's because the wife and I were "collecting red-heads". She picked Maru. Penny is so nice and super sweet, but we both just found Maru and Leah more interesting.

Since then I have married Haley, and she's adorable. I also love seeing her disheveled after she's helped out around the farm, trying to help keep it cute.

My intention, between the wife and I, we will marry everyone at some point eventually. One that I am without a doubt, hands down, leaving to her? Emily, because she's all in on that hippy dippy stuff. While I love and respect the Earth, our home, it's little different than my love and respect for my house in that I do so because I need it to survive.

Haha, no problem everyone has their own preferences.

I wanted to go for Leah, but I discovered this game by watching a Youtuber play and he chose her - and I wanted to play differently, so I went for Penny.

I first dated Shane in my second playthrough but did not think my farmer was ready for marriage.

Then I found ways to capture Sebastian's heart (aside from going after monsters in the mines) and my next farmer married the guy.

Penny. I needed a mother-in-law and don't have one IRL so Penny was the only choice. OK fine there was Maru. And Abigail. I guess Sam and Seb have moms too, whatever.

None of those pretenders has the Mother-in law though, only Penny. I don't see Jodi as a Bus-drivin, beer-swillin' alligator-rasslin' mom-in-law who's audacious enough to warn me one minute to be nice to my wife 'cuz she's the only one she has in this world, and heartily accept a frosty cold Pale Ale on a hot Summer afternoon the next. And really, what could be better than marrying your wife at 10 hearts while you only have 2 or so with the MIL and then ply her to 10 hearts with booze behind the teetotaler wife's back.

There's just none of this intrigue with the other characters. And Pam gives you Battery Packs in the mail, what's not to like?

Shane for me, too. What a slob his "room" was when attached to the house. So depressing and lazy.

Now I'm married to Elliot and he's so sweet and poetic. His room is neat, tidy, and filled with books!

I enjoy gifting Shane tree sap and broken glasses now. LOL

What's interesting is there was just a cut scene with Abigail and she was using that board and it said, " I ❤ Farmer Ja...."I was already married to Elliot so it was interesting that Abigail came out as gay to a married woman. Hmm....

When I started playing the game I intended to marry Sebastian, but also wanted to see all the 10 heart events for every marriable npc (which I did).

When I saw Harvey's transformation I decided to marry him, and had 2 kids with him for the achievement. Harvey is a great husband and father, and if it were not for the constant dialogue about health matters he would still be my fav. (I'm not too keen on kids though lol)

I married Elliot at first. He seemed more age appropriate and I appreciated the romance. He makes a good husband! But I’m hoping to marry everyone eventually. Three down, 9 to go

The wife and I are, between us, planning the same. We're about half-way through them. In 1 of our MP saves we're both married, in another 1 of us is, and in the third neither of us is yet. For our solo saves: in 1 of each of our 2 saves we are married. That is 5 of them down, with 5 more marriages on the horizon before we start up more saves. We're planning on not duplicating until we've married them all. Kinda like collecting Pokemon, you gotta catch them all, you know? 😉

Sebby! My save file got corrupted just before I could marry him, but before I modded my game to oblivion, he stood out the most to me. We both have similar careers, we have similar personalities, he's cute, and he was very sweet the more my farmer talked to him. He opened up a lot over time and just reminded me so much of myself so I guess I was drawn to that lol. Also, I liked making his day and making him happy and smile. He was down a lot, so I liked seeing that smile :).

This playthrough I'm aiming for Sam (he's a lil more upbeat from the get go and he's playful), but I still miss Sebastian sometimes... I'll probably start a third playthrough and just marry him ASAP. Also... That frog he adopts towards the end of his heart events is so cute and I want it in my house too lol.

Married Penny first, figured she needed rescuing from that trailer.... then got scammed out of half a million to build her mother a house. Pfft.

On a throwaway farm (Only did the save to get the Joja trophy on PS4) I married Haley.

Latest file I started by marrying Abigail, but then I realised I don't actually like Pierre very much, so after having two kids with her and giving her Amethyst every single day I doved the kids, divorced the purple haired murderer and started romancing Leah.

So I was deciding between Shane and Sebastian. I don’t know why I was attracted to the depressing ones. I think it’s because I’m the same LOL but Shane really went off the rail and it was just too much for me and then Sebastian was throwing hints that he likes Abigail and I was hurt 😂 so I went for the safer option which was Alex.

For me, Leah was my soulmate. Talented, dedicated, strong, and independent, she also one of the (very) few of the marriable candidate who actually love being in the Valley itself. Most of the candidate hates the Valley until you came along. Others like Haley, and Alex doesn't like being in the Valley unless you're close to them, making the fact that they only stay in the Valley because they are married to you. Also, since she has spent a long time in nature, she doesn't mind doing heavy jobs like cutting wood. Which makes her an ideal wife to work with you in your farm.
Heck, Haley wouldn't even want to step in the muddy places. Let alone helping you in your farm!

Not to speak that Leah has the career of her dream!

A reminder, she left her job in the city to chase her dream to be an artist, to be surrounded by nature, and she succeed. She thrives. Sure, she has a problem with her self esteem, but in the end, all she need was just a little push of confidence at the end.
And believe me, not all people are brave enough to leave their safety bubble to chase their own dream, and that's really commendable. Not many candidates has their dream career (Harvey , Maru, and maybe Sebas?). And heck, isn't the reason MC move to the Valley because they were bored of the modern life? You and Leah walk the same road, either to chase your dream, or to escape the sickening life at the city, doesn't matter why. I don't know about you, but to me, that's what I call Fate.

Sorry for my bad English, I hope you understand my point here, and no matter how you say what others candidate turn to be after you get close to them, Leah is always the one for me.
Because she understand how perilous your journey is to achieve your dream.

Edit: Oh I also forgot that Leah is the prettiest of all Bachelorette.. Just Sayin' ;)

Mine is Leah of course! She's literally the best! She's the last girl I met in town, but the first I got attached with.
What are your thoughts looking back?
Confident. No regrets. (Screw my friend who said she's a bad spouse.)
Is your first still your favorite?
Absolutely. Without a doubt.
Do you look back and think “Why did I ever marry that person?!”?
Not in my dictionary about her.

Why? Well, she's the kind of person I like. A person who struggle to achieve her dreams. A person who believes that her dreams is achievable. A person that keeps going no matter what others said otherwise. A fighter and a rebel. That's why I chose her.

She kills the Golem. I did hide the text as I didn't want to spoil it for anyone who hasn't got her 14 heart event.
Oh, I completely understand why you used the inline spoiler tag. 👍

But if she is a murderer for that... what does that make us every time we go into the mines? I'm not sure I would want to point fingers. 😉 Anyway, I have seen it (the wife married her in one of her saves and got the 14 heart event), and that Abi definitely shows some regret and asks for you to validate her actions speaks volumes. She didn't murder the golem, in mind mind, but acted only to defend you. If you can not accept that, I will not argue further after saying only that I think you are judging her harshly when every one of us has killed far more many monsters than she has.
