While trying to use the dehydrator, the game kept telling me to use coal (morceaux de charbon) instead of saying I didn't have enough of the item I was trying to dehydrate.
I am playing on the latest version so 1.6.8 I think on the PC Game Pass.

Have a nice day !

@450735 @BussinBungus @Clothilde @jazhmock @NecroPheles @parallax @Sarevok187 @steedfox0 @Zangdar All the issues you reported should be fixed in the upcoming Stardew Valley 1.6.9 (except those mentioned below). Thanks for reporting them!

Sometimes there is a missing space between words.
the possessive "ma" (feminine) "mon" (masculine) is not generated "dynamically", i guess. :penny:
That's fixed for relation names like "ma soeur" in 1.6.9. If it affects other text too, feel free to report specific examples and I'll take a look.

I think you could insert "the object" or "the thing" verbatim just before the thing in question in the sentence so as to avoid the absence of the necessary reference word in the French language such as "l'", "la", "le", "les" or "d'", " du", "de", "des", (as appropriate) in French.
l'Argile. / de l'Argile.
le Café / du Café.
la Banane / de la Banane / des Bananes.

Eg: "Est-ce que tu savais que ma fille déteste l'objet 'Argile' ?"

Ultimately, I suggest the generic wording like this :
Eg: "Est-ce que tu savais que [prénom] ... [déteste = hated / adore = loved / apprécie = liked] cet objet : [nom de l'objet]' ?"

This might be the solution regarding these little “language mistakes” for French. For other languages, I don't know.
It's tricky because item names are inserted dynamically in many different contexts, and item names are sometimes plural. For example, text like "Est-ce que tu savais que Abigail déteste cet objet : Graines anciennes ?" is a bit awkward. I'm not sure there's a good way to translate that text that won't sometimes be awkward though. Ideally I'd want to discuss with a translator before making changes like that, but that probably won't happen this late in 1.6 unfortunately.

Here I don't know if it's a related issue to display a wrong error line or if it's a bug. Because the farm teleporter, as its name suggests, works on a farm. Whether she's in Stardew Valley or on Ginger Island. Or it would be necessary to specify that the pair of teleporters does not work anywhere other than the Stardew Valley farm. :george:
It's called a Mini-obélisque in French currently, but that might have changed after your comment. You could post in the suggestions forum about enabling them on the island farm too though.

Hello,

This is the first time I play the new update on switch, and I realized that all the apostrophes appear as a square (it happens to all the apostrophes, I only put two pictures as an example).
The update version is 1.6.9 build 36.

Thank you for helping resolve this issue, or maybe it's just on my game ? If so, could you kindly tell me what to do ? :)

Have a great day and thank you !!

Hey guys ! Hope you are doing good.

So, French is my native language. I was wondering if you were looking for extremely nit-picky people over the translations or if you prefer focusing on the big typos and that's it ? I play the English version because the French translation sometimes lacks the natural flow of the language. At times, It feels a bit "word to word" without including the nuances of how it's actually used and spoken, which overall feels a bit off to me. But I'm aware that not everyone might care as much so let me know if you're interested and I'll get to hyperfocussing on refining some translations if I have the time.

Have a nice day, take care !
Love,
Rose

When Robin and Lewis are introducing the Special Order Board, something like "la construction est réussite" instead of "réussie"

can't play it again to have the exact citation, sorry

Hello! I am playing v1.6.15 build 24354 (android) and in a interaction with Abigail she flipped into English mid dialogue, then back again. It was after dating, late night in town. She was talking about hanging out in the cemetery...

Consistency renaming:
"Œuf de grenouille" and "Œuf de Calico", "Pierre d’œuf de Calico" (and also œuf word in their descriptions and in several dialogues) should be renamed to "Oeuf de grenouille", "Oeuf de Calico", "Pierre d’oeuf de Calico" to match all the other pre-1.6 eggs which is spelled as "Oeuf" like:

Oeuf
Gros oeuf
Oeuf du Vide
Oeuf d'autruche
Oeuf de dinosaure
Oeuf de Slime
Oeuf de canard
Oeuf sur le plat
Oeuf de tonnerre
Oeuf en or
Fête des Oeufs

...
In a few new dialogues (1.5-1.6) there are œuf while in the much more older dialogues there are oeuf.

I know that this is not a mistake in common sense, but translation should be consistent and use the same approach to the all items. They and their descriptions should ether use "œuf" or "oeuf" in all cases. The easiest thing is to search the translation files and replace all the œuf to oeuf.

P.S. It also makes using the game wiki harder since you don't know what to type to find an item.

Fertilizer names consistency edit:

As you can see here, the pre-1.5 items and 1.5 items translated in different manner. The newer items should follow the naming logic of previous names, or all items should be renamed in something unified.

Current version:
1 Engrais de base (BasicFertilizer_Name)
2 Engrais de qualité (QualityFertilizer_Name)
3 Engrais de luxe (DeluxeFertilizer_Name)
they all seems to be ok

1 Sol de rétention basique (BasicRetainingSoil_Name)
2 Sol de rétention de qualité (QualityRetainingSoil_Name)
3 Rétention d'eau de luxe (DeluxeRetainingSoil_Name)
-The last one named in a completely different manner

1 Engrais de croissance rapide (SpeedGro_Name)
2 Engrais de croissance rapide II (DeluxeSpeedGro_Name)
3 Vitesse grand V (HyperSpeedGro_Name)
-The last one named in a completely different manner; the word 'fertilizer' (engrais) can be omitted

My suggestions:

Retaining soil:
1 Sol de rétention basique (BasicRetainingSoil_Name)
2 Sol de rétention de qualité (QualityRetainingSoil_Name)

3 Sol de rétention de luxe (DeluxeRetainingSoil_Name)

Speed-Gro:
1 Engrais de croissance rapide (SpeedGro_Name)
2 Engrais de croissance rapide II (DeluxeSpeedGro_Name)
3 Engrais de croissance rapide III (HyperSpeedGro_Name)

OR:
1 Croissance-Rapide (SpeedGro_Name)
2 Croissance-Rapide II (DeluxeSpeedGro_Name)
3 Croissance-Rapide III (HyperSpeedGro_Name)

OR:
1 Croissance-Rapide (SpeedGro_Name)
2 Croissance-Rapide de luxe (DeluxeSpeedGro_Name)
3 Croissance-Rapide hyper (HyperSpeedGro_Name)

Their descriptions should be checked too; in English they are almost the same and differs only by several words, while in French they look like they were translated differently several times. Should be unified, here are the keys:

BasicFertilizer_Description
QualityFertilizer_Description
DeluxeFertilizer_Description

BasicRetainingSoil_Description
QualityRetainingSoil_Description
DeluxeRetainingSoil_Description

SpeedGro_Description
DeluxeSpeedGro_Description
HyperSpeedGro_Description

Hello

During the feast of the winter star, the secret friend tells "C'est moi ton Père Noël secret" (or something similar) which is a reference to Santa Claus which I think is avoided everywhere else (secret friend or "ami secret" is used elsewhere).

After a quest for willy to get 100 bugmeat, willy says "Hé,hé... Quand j'ai dit frais, je ne m'attendais pas à ce que ça bouge encore !". It is missing a space after the comma between "hé"

6 heart event of Clint: "Tu m'as prit la main dans le sac" => "prit" should be "pris"

Letter from Lewis (Sprint 11 in year 2 if it is useful): "Je vais vous donner un conseil parce que vous aime bien" is missing "je" before "vous aime bien"

When Shane get dressed up during Emily's event at Lewis' house, she says: "va dehors et affronte le monde en ayant confiance toi": missing "en" between "confience" and "toi"

During the desert festival, the quest from Willy is " Le défi de Willy" (with a leading space that should be removed probably)

Quest from Robin (the one that last a lot of days): "Et vous pouvez gardez ça: Pierre" (missing a space before ":")

When finishing a short timed quest for Clint, he thanks by saying "Tu as apporté les minerais que j'ai demandés.Merci" (missing a space before "Merci" and probably a dot at the end)

During a cutscene with Shane: "Passe derrière Clint et Emily en marchant pendant qu'ils parlent Ça donnera..." (missing a dot after "qu'ils parlent")

During Flower Danse, when talking to Mauru she says: "Ça peut être intimidant t'inviter quelqu'un à danser !" (should be "d'inviter")

Haley cutscene at the beach: "S'il te plaît pardonne-moi.Je l'ai perdu" (missing a space after the dot)

Quest from Alex: "J'ai besoin d' Poisson lune pour préparer : une nouvelle recette.Est-ce que quelqu'un peut m'en apporter ?" (missing a space after the dot in the middle)

When talking to Robin at her place, she says on the left "J'ai (xxx) qui serait incroyable chez toi" => there is a double space after "J'ai"

When viewing the TV, there is this informaiton about the big cucumber: "Il ne sort que le soir, été et en automne." (missing "en" before "été")

During Luau festival, talking to Sam, he says "l'année prochaine, il faudra que je me souvienne..." (First letter should be capitalised)

During a cutscene, when Harvey is doing sport at Pierre's, he ask to not tell anyone and there is the choice " Je ne dirais rien." (extra space at the beginning)

When finishing a small timed quest for Robin: "Il semble que tu aies ce que je t'ai demandé : pierres.Ça va beaucoup m'aider, merci !" (missing a space before "Ça")

After finishing the quest to give 25 gold vegetables to Pierre, during the cutscene Gus says: "Hahaha J'ai cru comprendre [...]" (there are two spaces after "Hahaha", it should be one dot and one space)

When unlocking a success the message is displayed: "Nouveau succès :Le fermier bien-aimé" (missing a space after the ":")

Cutscene between Krobus and the dwarf: "Si les nains, ne nous aviez pas chassés [...]" (the comma should not be there)

When giving a red mushroom to George for a quest, he says: "Hé !C'est ce que j'ai demandé [...]" (missing a space after "!")

10 hearts cutscene with Haley, Haley says "Euh... tu voulais quoi ?" (two spaces before "?" instead of one)

Quest from Robine: "J'ai besoin d'Fruit de cactus pour préparer : un taco.Est-ce que quelqu'un peut m'en apporter ?" (missing a space after the dot)

When finishing quest from Robine : "Salut, XXX !C'est ce que j'ai demandé : Fruit de cactus ? C'est parfait" (missing space after "!")

When talking to Pierre for shopping: "Bienvenue chez Pierre !Besoin de fournitures ?" (missing a space after "!")

After completing the community center, Morris says: "Les chiffres d'affaires chute ! Où sont passés tous mes clients ?" (should be "Le chiffre d'affaires" without the "s")

When entering the cutscene with Willy's boat, there are some issues with the pronoun used for the boat, which is male in French.
"Elle fait de la peine à voir." => "Il fait de la peine à voir."
"Mais maintenant, elle peut à peine à rester à flot" (should be "il peut à peine rester à flot")
"Je la réparerais bien moi-même" => "Je le réparerais bien moi-même"
"cette bonne vielle fille" => I don't think we would say this in French, maybe "ce bon vieux rafiot"

To fix the broken boat, 5 battery packs are needed. They are called "Pile" in the game but the message says: "Donner 5 batteries pour réparer le distributeur de billets ?" (should be "piles"). It also says for the anchor: "Donner 5 lingos d'iridium pour réparer l'ancre ?" ("lingos" should be "lingots")

Letter from Demetrius: "Bonjour XXX, Je menais des recherches sur le terrain l'autre jour et j'ai découvert ce spécimen. [...]" I think the text has "jour" written as "jo ur" because it was not on the same line.

When marrying someone, Lewis start by saying: "Quand XXX est arrivé pour à Pélican Ville, [...]" (the "pour" should not be there or there should be another word after that maybe)

When finishing small quest for Linus: "Oh !C'est ce que j'ai demandé [...]" (missing a space after "!")

When talking to Kent, sometimes he says: "Je suis debout depuis 4 heures du matin... Parfois, je me demande parfois si j'arriverai à reprendre une vie normale" (there is "parfois" twice)

When consulting the weather forecast, it says regarfing fern islands: "... et voici nos prévisions spéciales pour la région des îles Fougère :Le temps sera clair et ensoleillé [...]" (missing a space after ":")

In the warp totem island description, it says "Peut être utilisé qu'une seule fois" while for other warp totems, it says "Disparaît après son utilisation" (this is the same meaning but maybe it could add consistency)

The description of the "Monoculture" success is "Expédier 300 spécimens de chaque récolte." but it should be "Expédier 300 spécimens d'une récolte."

I'm not sure that Santa is intended to be referred to in Stardew Valley, because this game has slightly changed holidays' and traditions' names. In English the Santa Hat is the only object referred to Santa.

During the feast of the winter star, the secret friend tells "C'est moi ton Père Noël secret" (or something similar) which is a reference to Santa Claus which I think is avoided everywhere else (secret friend or "ami secret" is used elsewhere).
StringsFromCSFiles
English:
<Key>Event.cs.1499</Key>
<Value>Hey, @. I'm your secret gift-giver this year.#$b#Here, open it.$h</Value>

StringsFromCSFiles.fr-FR
French:
<Key>Event.cs.1499</Key>
<Value>Hé, @. Je suis ton Père Noël secret cette année.#$b#Eh bien ? Ouvre-le.$h</Value>

so perhaps ton Père Noël secret should be changed to ton ami secret or something which fits the 'secret gift-giver'.

[Strings\Furniture.fr-FR.xml -> "CornPlant"]
Current: Plante de maïs but it's not actually a 'corn'.
Looks like it was mistranslated in many languages. As I get it right, it is English common name for the Dracaena fragrans (cornstalk dracaena or happy plant), a flowering African shrub commonly kept as a house plant. So how do French people usually call it?
Dragonnier or Dracaena / Dracéna?
