Judging the Cooked Dishes

also where's the ice cream flavoring? Shouldn't it be like, because it's pink white and green, shouldn't there be strawberries and/or green tea leaves? I get that there isn't vanilla, but there is green tea leaves and strawberry

also the cookies are shown with chocolate chips, but it's not really 'chocolate chip' but it doesn't matter. Just saying, too many things are featured with chocolate when they don't even have chocolate

Almost none of the dishes listed include the majority of their ingredients - I mean, leek, dandelion and vinegar make a salad, I guess, but not a good one, and I wouldn't want to make parsnip soup as listed. Not a thing made with "wheat flour" doesn't need significant processing and other ingredients (bread, pizza, spaghetti, etc etc etc etc). The salmon dinner mentions lemon spritz in its description but there are no lemons in game. Pepper poppers with no breading, fish tacos with no salsa or cheese, nothing has seasonings, stir fry "on a bed of rice" without rice as an ingredient... not to mention that Evelyn complains that Gus is serving only meat at the festival while if you eat off his grill you get... a survival burger, which has no meat.

my justification is just to mentally assume that the farmer bought kitchen staples (or moved in with them) and has stuff like salt, seasonings and cocoa in their pantry.

And why does chocolate cake only need wheat flour, sugar, and an egg? Where's the chocolate part?
Well, the chocolate cake recipe hearkens back to a time before the Gotoro chocolate embargo.

Maybe Evelyn remembers chocolate cake with chocolate, but these days a sad simulacrum is made by caramelizing the sugar and toasting the flour.

This embargo is the reason that the answer to the question posed by the book title "Is War with the Gotoro Empire necessary?" is a resounding "Yes!"

So let's all thank Kent for his service in the battle for theobromine, with a dish of roasted hazelnuts, which taste sort of like chocolate if you don't know what chocolate tastes like.

Pepper poppers with no breading
This is the direction the Stardew Valley Cookbook takes as well, describing it as a healthier option. I blame Harvey. You can get real pepper poppers in game by befriending Shane, who will gift them to you from his hoard of stolen Joja frozen goods. Only Shane can microwave them as Yoba and Joja intended. The farmer will have to take them out of their plastic tray and transfer them to a baking sheet to enjoy their "unique blend of Cheez and reconstituted peppers in a panko crust" at home.

This is not officially a cooking game.
That said give CONCERNED APE his time on the real game as a game.
Rest in peace now proceed with the game.

I free forgot to add this. When I give 4the four Prismatics to Qi on Ginger Island it said that I must pick up the reward!? This since the update when bèfore it would be automatically added before the updated. Now I find this happens with the Robin asking for 100 wood after delivering to Robin's bin the same thing happens. I checked the Mayor's house in things lost and there it is with the Prismatic gems.
What's up with this?
Am I missing something!!!

*sigh* I wish there was meat. Don't wish we could kill the animals (as that would severely undermine the tone of the game imo), don't know how :ca: would do that, but nonetheless, I wish we had meat.

Wiki says shad are available in the river (including town) in the morning every season but winter, although it must be raining.

When the raccoon asks for a fish, he wants the smoked version.

Open the journal menu and look at the listed requirements for each job. Both of these quests require you to collect something as well as put that quantity of something in a bin. You don't have to put the exact ones you collected; you can deposit them first, then go hunting for more prismatic shards or chopping more hardwood until the quest completes. But just putting some shards or hardwood in the marked bin without also collecting the same amount does not complete the quest. Most of the quests will say this: you have to collect as well as deliver.

Before 1.6, the prismatic shard Qi quest did not require any collection of materials; if you put four in the bin, that was all you needed to do. After the update, you must collect as well as deliver. Since you did not fulfill that step, the quest is considered unfinished, so the extra items are put into the lost and found.
