1.6 Update What happened in your game today?

Farmer
I had a save where the Farmer made mayonnaise with it.

With enough luck, you might find another in a rare chest in the volcano dungeon.
Yep. Did lots of volcano runs for the Ostrich egg before with high luck buffs like 5 luck points I think. I shipped the original egg but wanted a couple ostriches just for fun cause they are cool looking, so had to find another to hatch. They only lay on average weekly, but their eggs make 10 gold mayos. Better than chickens, statistically. So not too bad for moderate money making actually.

I finally completed the community center and viewed the community center cutscene and then I got about 99.9% of the missing bundle and caught my first slimejack and void salmon. Completed Wizard's 'Magic Ink' Quest in one day because I had void mayonnaise in my inventory! Have some mature pumpkins I'm hoping to turn into giant crops but accidentally picked one... oops... haha

For background: I'm on Year 3 of my latest Hilltop Farm. I was watching the old black & white Addams Family tv show when I started it and decided to take inspiration. So my farmer is Wednesday, who has inherited Frump Farm from her Grandpapa Frump. She's married to Sebastian (he could definitely be an Addams) and has named all her animals after historical and/or mythilogical figures.

Anyway, on Spirit's Eve Year 2, Sebastian commented that it would be cool to have some walking skeletons on the farm. In true Addams fashion, Wednesday decided to make it so. Robin was hired to add a cubby to the farmhouse, which was turned into the cage. Several visits into the quarry mine eventually produced a cursed mannequin. Add the skeleton mask prize for the skeleton monster slayer's goal and a simple skeleton shirt (bone fragment + cloth in the sewing machine) and Sebastian got his caged skeleton. Sort of (close enough). I call him Skellly.

Skelly mostly moves about inside his cage, but has escaped containment thrice. Now in Fall Year 3, he decided to change the flooring and wallpaper. I somehow didn't notice this until Wednesday was about to leave the farmhouse and I wondered why the space in front of the door (that you sadly can't put any pathing on) was black. Then, I finally noticed the rest. 😄 I think I'll keep it.

For the fair, I've been trying to represent Frump Farm well without just using the same items every year. I think Year 3's turned out especially nice, even though I forgot the irridium quality stingray I'd planned to include. I should have stored it in the general chest instead of the fish chest. Still, I did grandpapa proud and beat Pierre, and that's really all that matters, right?

Are you on the riverland farm? Since you're talking about various islands.

I'm on year 5, recently caught all the fish (this is after coming to this forum explicitly to beg for help because I could not catch an eel). This is the furthest I've gotten on a save file. I have 48 very happy rabbits! I need more names if I'm going to get more.
That’s a lot of rabbits

mythological figures? Do you do Greek or something else? If Greek are one of your animals Athena?

Trying to get the right fish to give to the raccoon.
And also, to figure out what the item I'm missing in the "Queen of Sauce". The last item on my listing of food.
I wish I could place the garden in another area like where Marnie and the wagon appears.
Maybe there is not so crowded area.
Until the answer appears I'm at a lost.

Queen of the sauce will repeat any missing recipes you do not have on Wednesday. So if you're still missing a recipe and she's not giving you a new one on Wed, then someone likely has to gift you the recipe

Beginning winter of year one in my latest save, I am making progress. I've built both a coop and a barn, and have expanded the coop. Keep hitting the caravan in hopes of catching a rabbits foot or a duck feather, but no luck yet. Haley and I have max hearts and no one else is close, although Robin & Linus are both at four stars, and Alex at 3. Planning for farm expansion in spring so I can knock out the business/office room of the community center: I could technically do it NOW, but then I wouldn't have much money for spring planting. Hoping to finish this save's CC during spring 2, but we'll see. Depends a bit on luck at the caravan, since I never could catch a pufferfish.

It's an assortment that does include some Greek figures. The first void chicken hatched is named Nyx, and the blue chi ken is named Demeter. I do not currently have an Athena, but I plan to add a horse and a pair of ostriches, so who knows?

I missed you too. I’m not sure if I’ve even spoke to you personally before but I’ve enjoyed your posts in the past and certainly noticed you missing here. 😊

That is a gorgeous farm mod by the way. The author’s ‘more lively meadowlands farm‘ mod is also beautiful and not too much bigger. The size of the meadowland farm in vanilla but broken up slightly by a more beautiful river and waterfall and tillable green land tiles sprinkled with natural floral decor and a starter coop like in vanilla meadowland. I’ll have to try that forest one too.

My computer only supports 1- 2 large super mods (SVE and sometimes RSV and then my many QOL mods that also double for accessibility purposes, less mouse clicks and all for my arm affected by health issues. What do you enjoy?

Awwww thank you @stardew_luv that's so kind of you to say! It was lovely to come back to the forums and get nice messages like yours :) Sorry for the delay in replying, I haven't been back on in quite a while.

I saw the lively meadowlands mod as well, it's gorgeous. There's something so cozy about a small farm map.

I'm sorry to hear about your arm being affected, but that's great that there's mods that can help with accessibility.

The mods I like the most are mainly for aesthetics - I have medieval style buildings, country and witchy style furniture and an earthy recolour, along with lots of clothing mods. I also am trying out mods that add more crops and artisan goods like Wildflour's Atelier Goods and Cornucopia. I'm going to add a tea shop to my farm to use with the HxW Bakery and Tea Shop mod and the Market Town mod so I can have villagers visit my farm and buy my tea and baked goods!

How are you finding the SVE mod?

Just started on the default farm and all is well. I’m wondering How to get more seed thoug…
Once you get money there's a place in town (Pierres) that sells seeds. You can also use your scythe to clear weeds for a 5% chance of getting mixed seeds. These are random seasonal seeds. On day 2 you should get an opportunity to go meet Willie and receive a fishing pole, after which point you can fish and sell caught fish for money.
