Moving the rug under the fireplace

I’m decorating my house and I cannot move the rug that comes under the fireplace, how do i move it? I’ve tried all my tools and I know you can’t move rugs if there’s something on top of them, but the fireplace can’t be moved. Does anyone know how to fix this?

You can pick up the fireplace.

Since 1.6 stuff on top of carpets locks them down, so you have to pick up the fireplace atop of it first then pick up the carpet

it's a bit annoying but not as annoying as accidentally picking up the carpet and having the move everything you put it back down

You actually can pick up the fireplace! So, you can just pick up the fireplace and any other items that may be ontop of the rug and then move it! Hope this helps!

Right exactly! I’d much rather move a fireplace and a decoration or two than constantly dragging a rug in my inventory like I did in 1.5. I always picked up the one under the table and chairs which is beyond frustrating to reset each day. It got so frustrating I just had rug-less houses.
