At the beginning of this playthrough, I chose to marry Emily and was married to her for a few seasons. I ultimately chose to leave her, and turned our children into doves. Now, I am married to Abigail and we are working on our first child. LolAbigail Tops

I think the girls are all special in their own way I’m best friends with all of them. But as a straight gal that leaves me with 6 choices and at least 3 could be my irl children.
So Shane is very lovable and friendly once your at higher hearts but honestly has more to work through before marriage. He stays on the right path if he’s at home with his aunt and Goddaughter. But if you marry him he often starts slipping back into old habits. Elliot is nice and handsome and is very romantic but I just can’t get through his vanity issues. It’s just like ugh! So my go to is Harvey. He’s very mature, a great father, thoughtful and romantic and he always says a great day is when all of his patients are healthy. Can’t beat that for character!

For me? Emily, then Leah, then Penny.
They all feel like they know what they want from life, and would be content settling down with the Farmer.
Abigail still feels like she wants to see the world first. Maru is great but Demetrius isn’t far wrong, she should be going to a big name research lab so Joja can steal all her inventions and use them for profit, and Haley while she becomes nice eventually, I’m just not sure I would put forth that kind of effort in real life for someone who seems so shallow at the start. (With apologies to HaleyRocks)

Leah all the way because of this. Her lifestyle doesn’t change much when you get married because it was already very similar. She lived in a cabin outside of town, and in the farm she can still work on her art. I’m straight, but even if I wasn’t, I still wouldn’t marry Alex, for example, because he gives up his gridball dream to live with you. It feels like when you marry Penny, it complicates her tutoring because she has to travel into town. Maru deserves to get a higher education. With Leah, her dreams can coexist with your romance.
…Or maybe I just want a cottagecore waifu

When I play as a female farmer, I prefer Shane.
When I play as a male farmer, I prefer Penny.
On my most recent playthroughs, I am trying other characters to see their final cutscenes. Sebastian was kinda fun. :)
But I think Shane makes the most sense as he WANTS to be a farmer, so having him on the farm makes sense for his story line.
And Penny wants to move away from her mom and have a house of her OWN to decorate, so having her also makes a lot of sense.
I will say that I REALLY wish that Clint was a marriageable character, though. I feel so sorry for the poor guy. And Sandy could get added too, for balance!

Having married Emily, Haley, Leah and Abigail in various games:
Haley #1 Her 14 heart event just shows how far she's come since her character at the start of the game, and she seems really happy with farm life (apart from the start of winter)
Abigail #2 Even though she's got no chill around egg festival time, and gives you a bat wing, saying 'this reminded me of you'
Emily #3 Initially married her because of the heart events (dream sequence, dance performance) and also to spite Clint, but turns out she gets jealous if you give gifts to the other bachelorettes. Divorce and mind wipe, then I doved the kids and married Haley for the lulz.
Leah #4 Her 14 heart event is funny, but everything else is so mid. Her spouse room and gifts are uninspired (horseradish?) If I ever pick up my Joja run again, it'll be a divorce & mind wipe before marrying Maru.
