Switch Krobus not accepting the void ghost pendant

I have both full hearts with Krobus and the first house upgrade yet he won't accept the void ghost pendant even though I'm not married to anyone nor have given anyone a bouquet. I have restarted my game and console multiple times, checked for new updates, etc. but nothing seems to be working. I'm on Switch Version 1.6.9.37, have my language as English, and am in single player. This has never happened before the 1.6 update and this is my first time trying to get Krobus as a roommate in 1.6.

Since somebody reported yesterday that they accidentally gifted Krobus the mermaid’s pendant and he moved in, I’d be curious to know if that works for you.

I might try that, but one of the goals for my playthrough was to get Krobus moved in year one/have in fully moved in on Spring 1st (I'm on Winter 23rd year one) and to get the mermaid pendant I would have to wait until Spring because I don't have the recipe or the resources to craft a Rain Totem. I might hop onto a different save file that I don't have Krobus on and play until I can get him to move in and see if the mermaid pendant will work if the void pendant doesn't. If I do that I'll be sure to tell you the results.

I haven't tried it yet, I'm still trying to progress but it's going slowly and gets boring quickly. I'm getting close to the point where I can start talking to Krobus (I don't have the sewers unlocked on the save I'm testing this fix on yet) so hopefully I'll have results soon.
