Is this green chest reachable via pickaxe on Switch?

Credit to user in photo. I know that I can use the mouse arrow via the right joystick to access the chest contents and then use an upgraded hoe to hit the chest. However, for runs when I don't have that option yet, is there a way to get it with the pickaxe?

I'm told you can hit diagonally by using the joystick mouse arrow but I have tried over and over and cannot seem to get it to work. Several people claim they can do it and I'm doing it wrong, any suggestions?

Switch newest version as of Dec 29, 2024 and standard farm (i think)

As far as I know on switch, it's impossible

That being said, the idea of hovering the mouse over the tile and attacking upwards does seem like it would be your best bet. Are you sure you're not hitting it and it's simply still full? It wouldn't break in that case and I'm not sure if it would jump the diagonal (or you could just nto be hitting it in quick enough succession)
