There is no release date but if I'm not mistaken ConcernedApe offers early updates to modders to update their mods before the official release of the update.

Yeah, there are a lot of amazing modders working behind the scenes to make sure that everything comes out with the update. I just think that’s such an insane thing, I love how ca really wants to leave modders in the best possible place. Best dev

I was hoping for a peek at the winter outfits today on the first day of winter/solstice too. Although, where I am in Australia it's the summer solstice, not the winter solstice :)

To be clear, I don't have any insight that update 1.6 will or would be released today, 1st day of winter. It was merely an idea of mine because I think it would make a nice coincidence.
Honestly, I doubt it will happen today, though hope remains as the sun has not rised yet, where CA lives.

It's a great idea, and it makes total sense given Stardew Valley is all about the seasons :)

Yesterday, ConcernedApe sent his best wishes for the New Year with a SDV screenshot that is full of promises (though it can be totally handcrafted for what we know...)
However... I really hope he didn't update the sprites for the cows for what is shown there. I really think the current ones are cuter!

Yikes, I didn't even see that cow sprite! Goodness. I agree, digital farm cows should be as spherical as possible. Unrealistic, but so is giving milk without a calf.
the cow is my favorite!!!! i also love that he revealed more of the winter sprites. people are losing their minds about sam, as they should
