Playing the game fast

On my latest save (with a bunch of mods) I managed to do a lot in my first 2 months. I completed the Vault, Fish Tank and the Boiler room, In spring I got lvl 7 farming, In Fall I have 300 pumpkins all with sprinklers. I am also waiting on crops for the Pantry and am waiting for winter for the Crafts room. Don't ask about the bulletin board :(.
How far do you guys normally get in the first couple of seasons?

Not nearly that far, lol. I only play the vanilla game, so I wrap up the community center in fall and winter of year one. I usually have a handful of sprinklers by then. My farming, foraging, and fishing skills are usully doing well the first couple seasons but my mining and combat don't ctch up until later.

Nice! As you may know I love playing fast but my progress can change a lot depending on save, sometimes by “fast” I mean real life fast and I do nothing in the first 2-3 months a all.

I'm the opposite of fast. In fact, my YouTube channel game titles include "RETIRED SLOW PLAY". I'm in no rush. My self-imposed challenges are to take my time, be self-sufficient from buying seeds from Pierre. I DO want to get a good review from Grandpa by the end of year two. That's my only hard and fast rule. Maybe I'll be the award of the longest time to reach completion!

How did you get the Walleye and the Tiger Trout before fall?

I've managed CC completion by mid-fall, but it does require a bit of luck in getting the red cabbage or its seed from the cart vendor, and a few other bits and bobs like the Crocus and the Snow Yam from the cart vendor, and it requires a lot of planning to make sure you get all the seasonal items in a timely manner, but it is entirely doable.

Travelling cart for the Walleye and the tiger trout, I would have finished by year 1 if there was red cabbage seeds

You know, there's now a flag you can set on game creation that will guarantee a red cabbage or seed in the traveling cart vendor's inventory at some point before the end of the year. Try it out and see if you can get that Y1 CC Completion!

In contrast to Farmer Bobbi's eventual restive existence her start is usually quite efficient, buying Cauliflower seeds and chopping Trees for the Field Snack recipe on Day 1. She notices while Fishing on Day 2 that her arms don't transform into damp noodles from excessive effort and from then on it's about choosing the best way to use her brain instead of her incompletely developed brawn.

Her brain still nags and is bothered when turning Fish, Fruit and Veg into partial Community Center Bundles and that sense of incompleteness does eventually result in Desert and Quarry, and Minecart access. But of course there's always that horrendous eyesore clogging up the Farm.

No, not the spreading Weeds, those are for Tea Saplings. No! Those mushroom patches are for toads to keep their feet dry! The Trashhouse which someone mentioned apparently transmogrifies into a greenhouse if the Traveling Cart Lady and I could ever arrange a meeting and delivery. That elusive Red Cabbage Seed really kills any budding/grudging motivation to complete things quickly within the first year as that Fall 28 line in the sand comes and goes Cabbagelessly.

Every Year.

Leaving Winter Y1 for theming and planning the Farm "design" once the motivation for storyline accomplishments has been suitably crushed by the tyranny of game RNG.

You can also use winter root found from killing stuff in the mines in a seedmaker to make sinter seeds you can grow in the greenhouse which still can technically be done by mid fall ish
