Mac Xbox controller not working with SDV (M2 Macbook)

I cant get my xbox controller to work for SDV. It works for the desktop and steam.

Things I've tried:
- Enabling and disabling Steam input
- Setting to default controls
- SDV Ingame Menu Controller input set to force on and auto-detect
- Disabled and enabled the Controller game menu option
- Reinstalling Stardew Valley
- Cupping my head in frustration

Update: I've also tried the "fix" where you replace the libSDL2-2.0.0.dylib file. This has also not worked. Seems to be an issue since at least 2021 unfortunately.

Im Dealing with the same thing now ,but on a M1 Macbook. I Also tried the fix where you replace libSDL2-2.0.0.dylib file. That "fix" worked for me for about a month but now it has randomly stopped working. When I have that file the game won't even open . I have even try reinstalling Stardew Valley a few time but nothing is working.
