Worst thing about your country?

Just a few things, but it's still a pretty good place to live...

  1. Most other countries are so far away (good for security I guess, but not so good for travel)
  2. Heaps of venomous spiders and snakes (you have to be careful where you walk in Summer)
  3. Droughts, bushfires, floods, cyclones (I've experienced all of them)
  4. Weak value of the dollar

Yeah the spiders in Australia are dangerous. One of my relatives lives there and he gave me a coin so I have a two dollar coin from there lol.

The spiders are insane here @BeenASon - we have trapdoor spiders here on the mountain where I live. I know someone that lost a finger when they got bitten by one when they were gardening.

In saying that, I garden all the time, I'm just really careful to wear gardening gloves and check the bushes for snakes and spiders all the time.

Oh and we have ticks here! We get them on us all the time! Such a pain to remove and they leave an itchy sore for weeks!

I've heard it such a terrible disease to have, I always worry about it when I get a tick. Sorry to hear you have ticks there too!
I also know how to remove them in several different ways, from surgery to burning it so it's jaw (which is the freakiest thing I've ever seen) releases, to just pulling it out with a knife in a certain way if it hasn't burrowed into your skin yet. But that's too disgusting a topic, moving on!

Australian weather is so crazy, someone I know from them even shared a video where it was hailing recently lol

Only good thing about Australia (other than Saxton Hale) is the absolute abundance of rare minerals and gems. Largest opal in the world was found in Australia, it's bigger than a basketball. I believe the largest pearl was also found there, at 2'6 in length.

We luckily don't have that many spiders here. Has been a while since I saw one. A bunch of rats and lizards in my house but nothing crazy. But jesus christ losing a finger by getting bitten by a spider is like a horror movie plot.

That's a ton of potential for scavenger hunting!
