So, my 2 friends recently got the game through the Xbox Game Pass for PC. We were trying to create a co-op farm (which one of them would be hosting). After the initial cutscene happened, the screen went black (for the one hosting) and it kept that way permanently. When this happened, we thought it was just a bug, but after multiple attempts (from both of this friends) and this bug continuing, we had to give up on trying to play co-op, at least until the bug is fixed or we find a solution for it.
It's my first time posting on this forum, and hopefully we find a solution to this bug/crash?

Also forgot to mention, but me, differently from friends, have the game on steam, and although we haven't yet managed to even start a co-op farm, I wanted to know if it's possible for a co-op farm to be played by players got the game in different pc platforms?

Also, this in the most recent version of the game, since they downloaded the game yesterday.

I don’t know if you’re still having this problem, but I had this problem too and I fixed it by whitelisting the file startup_preferences which should located in C:\Users\AppData\Roaming\StardewValley unless you have games from xbox saved to a different drive. You can find tutorials on how to whitelist files for different antivirus softwares online if you don’t know how. The only issue with this fix is that you will have rewhitelist the startup_preferences file each time you want to make a new world.

Also Stardew from steam is compatible with the Stardew on game pass for pc.

Hope this helps you!!
