Why do people hate Pierre so much

2 things I hear the most:
1. Pierre resells the Crops/Forage you sell to him and claims he grew/found them. You find this from dialog with other Villagers
2. Pierre often ignores his family and even common sense for the sake of business opportunities. Caroline has dialog at some Festivals complaining about Pierre selling there instead of participating like everyone else. The Pierre's Quality Produce quest ends up with him trying to sell food labeled "organic" for like a 10x markup, which of course nobody wants.
I don't care much about these things though, Pierre can destroy his reputation and I can sell everything via the Shipping Bin so I interact with him minimally.
Though if there was a chance to separate
Caroline from him I would interact most maximally.

I don't know, personally I don't care too much for him. I don't appreciate his reselling of my stuff though. But oh well, it's him or Joja and honestly I don't feel like running an extra 2 seconds away to their market when I need some seeds.

That answered it. No getting Pierre to claim that irradiated veggies are Organic.

I don't exactly hate the guy, but i am appalled by the way he treats other villagers, or should i say, "valuable customers". Mostly from the Special Orders quest, during which he cynically acts like a real life scammer, with "bio"/"organic" false labelled goods and/or exorbitant price. As well as the other things noted from other players, both above and elsewhere.
For me, it's mostly a "teach that guy a lesson" issue and overall "stability"/"balance" to keep said guy in check, or something...
Yes, he sells a wider variety than Joja, yes, his prices to the player at least are slightly cheaper than Joja (sunflower exception), yes, Morris is also not very like-able to the majority of the playerbase (if not downright way less), but NO! I won't have that guy have the monopoly. And besides, he still keeps sending letters with money even if you go Joja route, which means he still is making profit enough to throw money towards us that way, plus there is neither gameplay nor moral repercussion and NO! I don't feel bad for him, from going Joja!
P.S. Also, Joja is open all the way to 23:00, allowing for late hour shopping...

Personally, for me it's his blatant disrespect to the other villagers, the uncharged reselling of crops (or though Marlon does that too, once i accidentally sold him my galaxy sword and had to buy it back for like, 50,000
T-T )and the fact he's just kinda a dip ****, but I always go with community centre anyway cause A, I enjoy it more, and B it makes Evelyn and Abigail happy and I love them

i dont like him because of those reasons BUT he does get the option to beat up Morris when you complete the community centre so like......2 things I hear the most:

I've always done the community center route for a wide variety of reasons, but this is the first thing anyone's said that is genuinely leaning me towards joja - more hours would be very nice.

He will downplay any silver or copper stuff you sell him and make sure the town knows its from you(apparently silver quality will make his family say they had to throw it out due to rot) and say any gold or iridium are 'his'

Really? There are other perks, too!
- Clint doesn't close on Sundays!
- Villagers don't change schedules, ergo you don't need to go out of your way, learning their new patterns (for tasks like giving gifts)!
- Movie Theatre lies in the former community centre; closer than before and during certain events (Fall's Golden Pumpkin), scenery looks cooler!
- Your "completion trophy" isn't only decorative; it produces Joja Cola daily (useful for Mr. Qi's Prismatic Grange quest, which requires a blue type item in bulk, among others)!

He's alright. He and Caroline are a little old fashion when it comes to raising their daughter and he's not the nicest villager, but he's not a bad one by any means. Reselling your produce is his job and he's up front about selling for a profit. He's initially worried about finances/loosing everything because of Joja. If you go CC (I always do), he opens the store everyday, stating he feels a responsibility to after Joja is gone, stating everyone "needs groceries". He even works holidays to keep paying the water bill, helping Abigail go to college, and covering all that takeout Caroline buys from the saloon.
He also comes around on the whole 'taking credit for your crops/foragables' bit as you befriend him.

At the expense of repeating what others have already said, there's the issue of Pierre reselling your items and claiming they're his. I genuinely cannot think of a reason why he does this. :v I also don't like how he treats Abigail (based off of her cutscene dialogue), but I'm probably just biased because she's my favorite bachelorette lol.
