Who to Marry?

The singles are all pretty equal, so it depends on who you like the most. There's a small difference in what they occasionally give you at breakfast. They will occasionally give you dinner too, but I'm generally too busy to be home before they've already gone to bed.

Also, you can file for a divorce in this game if you want to gather all the spouse pictures and what you might get for their 14-heart event.

I'm also kind of indecisive of who to marry this time. Those left are: Elliot, Sam (and Alex who I married in a deleted save) for the bachelors, and Emily, Haley, Maru and Penny for the bachelorettes. Not sure which of them fits best with the Wilderness farm map.

Well, since this Farm ist full of Monsters, I think Elliott would probably pity them, Sam would first marvel at them and then play them concerts by night, Alex probably uses them for nightly workouts (running around in special), Emily and Penny maybe would try to care for them and forbid you to fight them, Haley ignores them and Maru builds a secret laboratory in the bat cave and analyses them there... 🤷

I think Penny might somewhat care for the monsters, but also be able to ignore them most of the time since they aren't as scary as Pam before she recovers from the worst part of her hangovers, and grateful that the farmer is trying to keep her and the farm animals safe.
The telescope in Maru's spouse room would most likely have been rebuilt to work at closer range, so she can study the monsters from the safety of her room until she is ready to analyze them in more detail.
Elliot would study them (and the farmer's fights with them) as research for his novels, in particular fight scenes. With the farmland in front of the house lit with torches it's not as if it would just be shadows in the dark.

This question comes up every now and then, there're a lot of topic's for it, just search through the Forums. In the end it doesn't make that much difference. 🤷
Pretty much, they're all balanced and it ends up mattering which 14 heart event you want to see or which NPC you like the most more than any particular item they gift, as most of those types of benefits are pretty insignificant in the end.

It really all depends on what you'd qualify as the best part of marriage in a game like Stardew.

Game benefits? Probably rooming with Krobus might be your best option. (Even though he's not a marriage candidate-) Why? Cause bro gives lucky lunches on occasion. A pretty good meal to stock up on, in my experience.

But... Then there is the relationship aspect. Personally, the nicest marriage candidate, I believe, is Harvey. He's very sweet and romantic, and very respectable.

But then there is a story, which marriage candidate is the best story to experience. For me, that's Shane, I always befriend him quickly in my saves cause I like him to feel better as quickly as possible. His story is very impactful to watch and is pretty iconic in Stardew.

But at the end of the day... The best marriage candidate is the one you feel the most drawn to...

...

And that's why in my current save I am married to my farm!!! Minmax to the highest degree!!!!!
