1.6 Update Which mods mess up Vanilla save files?

Greetings.
I have discovered the wonders of Stardew modding, but I've a concern.
I've gotten decently far, summer of Year 3 to be exact, and would want to squeeze just a wee bit more content out of it with mods, but I fear of getting my save file annihilated if I were to go back to Vanilla after switching systems or the like.
Thus far, I've only installed a bunch of animal and item replacers along with that one dialogue mod and the one giving the villagers more fits for each season and event.
Any help on the matter? Should I play it safe? Should I throw everything out the window and attempt to memorise every content mod I install to redownload?

Hi!

I discovered mods because I didn't like the original colors of the game when I start playing Stardew Valley (they are too bright for me), so I was looking for more muted colors and that's how I came across the first mods. Like you the first mods I installed were just recolor mods for the game, my animals and new portraits. At the moment I play with around 340 mods and I check for new mods every few days, and when I find some, I try them out for a couple of days and if I don't like them, I uninstall them again.
The only time I had troubles with my save files was after the 1.6 update, when a lot of mods stop working and needed updates. Some of my favorite mods never got updates. If they were CP mods, I updated them myself; others were lost.

Of course you can always store a copy of your save files in a different folder as backup.

Content Patcher and the associated mods will not corrupt your save files, or make them unusable if you uninstall these mods.
You can remove all recolor mods safely because these are only cosmetic changes, none of these changes will be saved. The appearance of your farm animals, items and the villagers will revert back to Vanilla style after removing the mods. Same for the dialogue mods, after removing the dialogue mod, the new lines are gone.

When you play with a mod that adds new content to your game such as new crops, farm animals or new NPCs and you are removing this mod while you still have some of these new items in your inventory or chests, these items will be shown as error items. But you can easily trash these items and play as usual after that. The better way would be to sell or trash these items first, than save and exit the game, remove the mod and start your game again.
When you remove a custom NPC, Smapi will show you a message (something like 'NPC XYZ could not be found, it will be removed from your save file' or similar), but that's it. Your save file will not be deleted.

I hope that helps, have fun with the wonders of Stardew modding.
