My favorite is probably the rock crab or lava crab. They're decently uncommon, and that combined with the unusual loot table and unique shell mechanic make them always stand out in my mine runs.

Dust sprites look and sound too much like cute black kittens wanting to play. Turning them into something that doesn't look like that is one of my main motivations for taking "Danger in the deep." Then I can choose between mine modes where I don't have monsters that remind me of my cat and where I don't have gold nodes that wander off when you try to strike them.
