What's the most efficient control on mobile?

Hello all, I'm still fairly new to the game, and I'm exploring everything I can.

I'm currently using the default Tap & Auto-attack control, and it's great for combat and moving around but not so great for harvesting a big plot of crops (I'm still in the early game so I haven't got a chance to use new scythe yet).

It takes me about 6-7 hrs. in-game time to harvest everything, tapping tiles individually, and by then I don't have much time for everything else.

So what's the best control for mobile? Or is there a technique there to be able to harvest faster like I've seen on PC playthrough?

If you're new to the game I would use "tap to move + joystick" with the auto attack feature. It's probably the most beginner friendly control layout for someone new to the game.

The objective best is probably:
Joystick+buttons (optional joystick+buttons+tap to move but you can also just have the control toggle button setting on so you can switch back to the default to use it)
Horizontal toolbar (so you can tap it with both fingers on the screen)
No auto attack (it's more of an annoyance than not)
With everything appropriately scaled up to your screen size

Feel free to use the latter straight off the bat but it's definitely going to be a little harder to get used to (much better/more freedom for controlling the character though). Buttons definitely help harvest faster but generally crops are really slow on mobile as there's no way to overlap their harvesting animation (like you see people doing on pc), and machines that take edible products kind of suck as you always get the eating prompt.

Okay so I tried the second one, and buttons are a game changer for me. My combat suffered without the auto-attack (might be a skill issue haha) but at least I'm able to finish harvesting before 9 am and figuring out how to use the control toggle button helps a ton too. Thank you!

No problem! they truly are a game changer

And don't sweat about needing to use auto attack ,that's perfectly fine, and you can always swap at a later date once you understand a little more about mining and combat

Also definitely try out the hotizontal toolbar, it is a big help if you're using buttons

There’s no tap to move+joystick with auto attack. And what do you mean by objective best? Help please

There is, it's the bottom movement setting, called "tap-to-move and joystick"

Anything without buttons automatically has autoattack, so it's not labelled as such in the control settings

What do you mean by objective best? Sorry you lost me
"Objective" means without the opinions of each person influencing it. In this context the "objective best" would mean the best control setting for how precise it allows you to play, as usually people try to aim at playing with the most control over their character.

Tap to move and autoattack are fine if you want to take a more laid back approach but they are inherently inferior to manual attacking and movement because they aren't perfect and aren't totally controllable. Sometimes you'll move in a route that's slower than optimal or attack an extra time when you didn't want to, something that can be avoided with more manual controls.

Be careful around your Fairy Roses when harvesting honey. If you have the Iridium Scythe equipped and auto attack enabled, it gets sad fast.

If you have an iPad and and Apple Pencil that is bar none the easiest way to play on mobile. It’s the only way I can play the game these days.
