As the title says, if you met CA, what would you ask him to add to the game? For me, I think the farmer deserves a birthday. Even just something where it's only on the calendar.
What would you ask Concerned Ape to add to Stardew Valley if you met him?

Yes, farmer birthdays are a thing i've wanted for like, forever. How and who would give you gifts tho? Maybe only if your Heart level is at a certain point, and only if you talk to them that day will they give it to you? Idk. But while we're at it, pet birthdays too. Just bc
As for me, I would fix multiple things that are wrong with this game, maybe not wrong but just factually incorrect. Fishes swimming in the wrong biomes, fruits and veggies being labelled wrong, things like that.
Also, breeding rabbits. They can regenerate feet but they can't generate another bunny? I'm not buying it. What did you do Marnie? Sell your soul to Qi just so you could make profit off of selling bunnies? Four shame!

She obviously only sells off spayed or neutered bunnies. Same thing with the pets.

That's one thing I would like, too. And just to make sure you don't always get fertilizer or beer, having also the possibility to make a love/like/dislike/hate list for the farmer...

Immersive stuff like farmers birthday as you said, and even a doctors appointment since all the characters have one. Maybe it could work like, a stat overview for what you did that year or something like that. Though I guess that's what the menu is for(?)
IMO I'd also add a way for the farmers backstory to not have Joja involved, only so it's not jarring to pick the Joja route.

For the farmer's birthday, they could do things like have the people with the highest friendship in each house in town or each map region give you a gift based on what you bought or crafted or used most. So Marnie gives you gold star cheese because you keep consuming it, Gus gives you spicy eel for the same reason, Willy gives you the bobber you use most often on the fishing rod, Clint gives you a few bars of the ore you've put in the furnace most.
The thing I always want more of is a few more lines and a few more small cutscenes that are just daily life or town history. I also want the people in town who hardly refer to one another's existence to acknowledge each other a bit more; like, Jodi asks you for a fish but she never notices WIlly has lived here all along? So create a cutscene that tells a story why Willy never fishes the mountain lake anymore*
* We all know the real reason is that Gil beat him in the "laziest old man" award because by sitting there with a fishing rod all day, or behind a shop counter nobody else ever visits, he *looks* like he's doing something even when he's doing exactly as much nothing as Gil in his chair. And then the farmer came along and. Wanted. To Buy. Stuff. So now he's stuck actually sometimes doing something. His only consolation is that Gil also keeps having to hand out those monster eradication prizes...

Though, thinking about it, the ones I want new cutscenes and new dialogue for the most are: Sandy (which we're getting as is!), Krobus and especially Dwarf. And the Ginger Island Dwarf, who presumably isn't the same dwarf. (or if he is, we need a cutscene where he's surprised we have an aboveground route between his two homes).
And Birdie should be able to move at least as far as her own shack. Because I get humourous visions of her setting up her cooking or doing some cleaning then realising that annoying farmer is on the way, and dropping everything to rush back into place sitting unmoving at her fishing.
Oh, and I want the return of the mini-harp at some point. Having a whole secret talent you only ever use in ONE cutscene and never refer to again is just...

It would be easy enough, i feel, to have willy's boat give you access to more lands, and I would also be curious to see what he would do with another place for the farmer to go.
Perhaps a horse racing place on another island, where you can perk out your horse, get other horses/rideable animals, and participate in horse/ostrich races?
Chocobo Racing from FF7 comes to mind, but obviously it would be different. I know a few people who would be thoroughly pleased to have a race track officially in the game though.
