I usually just listen to the game sounds/music. Sometimes if I'm mining I'll put on a playlist, but I generally find music outside the game to be sort of distracting and less enjoyable

I'm with WanderingWendaline. There are a lot of games I play on silent or listen to other music, but for me the soundtrack and ambient sounds of Stardew Valley are an essential part of the enjoyment. I really appreciate the skill and attention that Concerned Ape put into the audio experience for SDV.

I play stardew silent or with very low volume ambient sounds because of issues with my headphones and games specifically. Used to put my own music in the background, but now I don't like doing that.

I'm just fine with the games soundtrack, don't need other music around, doesn't feel fitting for the game imho. But maybe it's bc i haven't found an alternative yet...

Usually the in game music. If my daughter is playing her weird looping stuff* too loud for me to enjoy it, I'll switch off the music but not the ambient background stuff.

* This isn't a "kids these days listen to strange music" thing, it's a weird audio project she keeps working on.

I remember thinking that I would be happy listening to any track the Stardew Valley game decided to play... and then Fall 1 came around on my first save. Boy, did THAT get old quick. Since then I either enjoy the quiet or listen to music of my own choosing, which most recently features a good number of songs from R.E.M., Kate Bush, Chaucerian Myth, and Marika Hackman.

kinda like everyone else, i listen to the soundtrack of the game about 60% of the time but i also listen to mcr/ghost/cavetown when i play :3 cavetown especially, he seems perfect for the stardew vibes imho
