1.6 Update What happened in your game today?

Yeah, I decided to stick with it, because it sort of matches how I usually name animals. Mopsy and Topsy, or Itty and Bitty. I'm not good with naming animals.
My last litter of kittens were Orlando, Oscar and Orville (although the new owners changed their names...)

Next Monday I picked up Robin's Resource Quest for stone. The alternative was Pierre's quest for quality vegetables, but most of what I have planted is fruit. I'm going to try to collect cheap gold-star vegetables for when the quest comes up again. Pierre isn't the only one who can be cheap...

I had Clint open all my boxes and geodes, found another apple sapling, the Book of Mysteries a few minerals Gunther was looking for. I'm still missing three gems and a prismatic shard. And about a dozen artifacts.

On Tuesday I went to Calico Desert to buy some seeds, give Sandy a daffodil and maybe get a few more rocks for Robin's quest. I also found some iridium ore and omni geodes by panning. I also found a few cactus fruits, and took them home for Sam's birthday.

Wednesday was uneventful - Sam did like his birthday gift, and I had to buy radish seeds at Joja because Pierre is closed. I forgot the QoS rerun again.
On Thursday Sam came to my door to invite me to his concert in Zuzu City, but I forgot - I spent the day looking for geodes while collecting stone for Robin's quest.

Friday was Demetrius' birthday. I gathered the remaining rocks for Robin's quest and then went into the shop to give Demetrius his birthday gift. I walked into Robin's reveal of her hardwood sleep receptacle. Since four posts on a bed are actually a ridiculous waste of my painfully gathered wood, I side with Demetrius. Besides, it's his birthday, I'm not going to let Robin send him to the doghouse on his birthday!!!

Pam had sent me a beer that had apparently been "rolling around in a drawer" - so I gave it back to her at the bus stop. And then realised I needed her to drive us Zuzu City to watch Sam's band.

Didn't see Shane at the bus stop, but he was there at the concert. Jodi and Vincent were there, too, but Kent was not. Also, there was somebody moping at the fence who looked like Kel (Leah's ex).

I had picked "country" for the simple reason I'd never picked it before - so the band was The Alfalfas and the music was sort of twang-y.

Saturday I ran around handing out gifts, picking up my prize ticket item, opening geodes and mystery boxes, getting some stuff to Gunther... Robin sent me a stone chest recipe, so I made one for my kitchen, because I keep forgetting to buy a mini-fridge.
I ran into Lewis and Marnie behind Lewis' truck having a stupid discussion. I told them I'd keep their secret, because there isn't really a good way to tell everyone - I would love to have the option to do that *and* follow up. Write it on the bulletin board or something...

Sunday I went to the desert and finally set up a chest next to the door. I filled it with bombs, some food and about 30 staircases I bought so far. I didn't use any of the staircases, but got two lucky shafts (13 and 8 levels respectively), so I got to 25 without problems. I didn't get much lower than that, though, because I'd had a late start.
I forgot Queen of Sauce again. I'm at least 4 recipes behind.

So the Bands name depends on what music they play? I never picked Country before, I can't imagine them playing such music, doesn't seem to fit them. Usually choose experimental rock music, so they're always "Goblin Destroyer"...

Yep. With Pop, they're called "The Pelicans". With dance music they're something that kind of seem like a keyboard smash. I've never picked experimental noise, so it's nice to find out out what they're called then. The Pelicans is also referenced sometimes when Sam is on Ginger Island, that if they switched musical instruments to ukulele, congas and steel drums, they'd be The Pelicans of Paradise...

Oh, I see, ty 😄 That quote I also got from Sam on GI. Could be nice to have them playing a gig on GI, kinda like a real beach party instead of the Luau.

I had dance music in a previous save, and they were something like Xenon Chip 2.0 (or maybe 3.0) - I never got the quote from Sam on GI, I have to look for that. I see him there sometimes with his guitar. (Well, not in my current game, I haven't even finished the CC yet...)

I have a hard time imagining Sebastian or Abigail playing country but I actually really like the honkytonky music track, which is what they play as a country band.

Last week of summer: I forgot Dwarf's birthday, which is annoying. I also fished a while and reached a new level of understanding - so now I have Foraging Mastery. I got leprechaun shoes from a passing train as well.
I planted two mystic trees and finally got a mushroom log. I never check the cave, so maybe having mushrooms out in the open will remind me.
Mr Qi sent me a lot of money for making it to level 25 in the mines. I still have to get to 100, and I have dump beets in the mayor's fridge. And the worst thing is that I know he has *so* many more annoying quests for me lined up!!

On Tuesday nothing much happened. I tried for octopus, which is one of the fish I still need for Summer. After I caught it, I went to the mines and caught an ice pip.
I picked up Gus' omelet quest. Should be able to do it in 14 days. I created some more ancient seeds for my greenhouse.

On Wednesday I brought Willy his birthday present (a diamond) and got treated to his crab-catching cutscene right after. After handing the crabs to Gus, I went to the mines for the lava eel. I caught one, after almost filling my entire backpack with algae and trash. I remembered Queen of Sauce. I'm depending on remembering the reruns, as I'm falling behind.

Thursday was a rainy day. I went into the mines to slay some more slimes. I now need 19 rock crabs and 196 slimes, according to Gil's list at the Adventurers' Guild.

Friday was another rainy day, so I went to the desert and moved down to about level 60 or so in the Skull Cavern. The last floor I hit was a prehistoric floor with a lot of pepper rexes, so after I killed most of them I decided to get out of there while I still had some health left. I had two dino eggs and a rib to take to Gunther, as well as a prismatic shard that I'd found on another floor on the way down. I also picked up more iridium ore than I'd expected.

So Saturday I went to the museum and donated my various items, took care of the farm animals and watered the beets in the greenhouse. I keep forgetting, so it's going to be a while before I can get them into Lewis' fridge. I did remember to make Lewis a bottle of truffle oil - nice and slick, the way he likes it. That's another task off my list.

Sunday I first collected my Junimo plush, watched Queen of Sauce and then went to the desert for the staircases and some bombs, but I didn't go down into the skull cavern. I did put all my bombs, some food, the staircases and a few farm warp totems into the chest in the mines.
I brought Sandy a flower, bought some more starfruit seeds for my greenhouse and chopped down all the trees. I also managed to catch a scorpion carp, so that's one more fish for my collection.

The Moonlight Jellies were lovely as ever. The green jelly stopped to dance right at my feet, which was cute.

I made it to the end of year and had my final sale! Tally ended up at about 38 million, not too shabby 😁. Biggest chunks were 8.8M ancient fruit wine, 6.6M ancient fruit jelly, 6.7M in diamonds, 6.5M in aged legend II roe. Got 1.7M in mayo from ostriches and gold chickens (probably more now because I hadn't given them crackers until fall). Only 1.3M from star fruit wine, because my cellar was woefully under-filled with casks so most of it wasn't aged at all.

I've never seen the numbers wobble so much, so that was fun! The only bad thing is that apparently on mobile if you earn more than 10 million the tens position disappears. So I really did make 38 million, but there is no 3 😭.

Nice bouncy numbers! And I agree that it's sad. At least we still get the money.

Fall is here. I plan to prepare to spend most of this winter on Ginger Island, so I'm hoping I can set up the farm with auto-grabbers, at least 48 ancient fruit plants in my greenhouse.
I have the iridium bars and I'll probably have the money to fix the boat. All I need is more hardwood.

In the last week of Summer I had one single orange on Summer 28th, so I could ship that one. Now I just need the pomegranates and apples, and that takes care of the fruit tree fruits.
I also forgot to mention that I actually fixed up the treetrunk, so now the raccoon that got evicted from my greenhouse has a nice new home. I gave him the 5 crayfish and smoked ghostfish he asked for, so he's ready to find a wife now.

*

Week one of Fall started out really well. I managed to plant pumpkins, grapes, broccoli and cranberries. I already have corn going, and wheat. I also planted fairy seeds. I had honey, which I turned into mead, because I don't think I have shipped that yet.

I put beets in Lewis' fridge and eggs in the saloon refrigerator. So that's two more quests off my list. My journal is slimming down. I still need a few sprinklers, but I'm OK with watering my bottom row of 3x3 patches by hand.
At the end of the day I went to the secret woods to get hardwood and kill a few more slimes. I really need that ring. I'm already having problems with sludges, so I want to have protection before I have to face the tiger slimes.

Tuesday is Penny's birthday. I brought her a poppy. I also brought Krobus and Dwarf a gift, as I tend to forget working on those friendships (and missing Dwarf's birthday didn't help).
I spent some time in the quarry, handed out some more gifts to villagers that happened to be passing and caught the Angler. Then I caught up on my farming chores. By the time I'd watered my new starfruit in the greenhouse, it was too late to go to the secret woods.

On Wednesday I finished the Community Center with a pomegranate and 3 apples. I harvested my wheat and planted the rest of my seeds. Can't give the wheat to Pierre yet, as he's closed on Wednesdays still.
I wanted to see Marnie to buy a sheep, but got waylaid by Peggy who wanted me to help educate the children about farm life. I told them all about fishing and Vincent wanted to know whether I had a boyfriend. I lied to Penny about loving kids. Then I went to buy myself a sheep and some auto-grabbers.

I looked around Joja Mart for the last time and said goodbye to the redheaded shopgirl. Sorry, honey, I hope they can find you a job in a different struggling little town...

I realised I hadn't talked to Morris at all since I moved to the valley, so this was my last chance. He desperately wanted to sell me a membership, but of course he couldn't, as I had already finished the Community Center.

Now all I have to do is attend the grand opening and collect my trophy.

I ran into Emily who somehow already knew I'd bought a sheep, and would now be able to weave my own cloth. As if I hadn't been supplying her with cloth from my bunnies for weeks already...

Watched the Queen of Sauce rerun and went to the secret woods to kill some slimes and gather more hardwood.
The raccoon is still single.

The start of summer was quiet and predictable;. Rowan got their saved seeds planted but this included enough mixed seeds and mixed flower seeds that they definitely weren't setting up, yet, for another giant. That would have to wait for Saturday. They'd only planted the top few rows where the main sprinklers were, and had a couple to spare for more giant crop attempts.

The row of coffee plants were mostly just outside the sprinklers, alas.

A random crate on the beach yielded some bombs. It was more than a little alarming to speculate just where explosives might have come from - and it didn't seem the style of the guy who dropped mystery boxes, since at least those had to be opened under the smith's supervision and any explosives were well wrapped -- but Rowan tucked them among the mining supplies, not sure who they'd report them to, anyhow.

They fell asleep mowing hay and chopping trees, trying to clear some of the season-change mess.

I started a new save in the SD Extended mod, testing it out. I used my same player name, favorite thing, etc as in my very first save but chose the new Grandpa's Farm map. In my original save I married Penny, but I want to get to know the new peeps first , so I'm not hurrying anything. I'm also ignoring the community center for the time being, aside from throwing stuff in chests that should apply to the bundles. I know the bundles are a little different, though; the summer foraging one asked for a flower I NEVER saw while roaming around. I've seen extra Joja stuff so I'm not committing to either approach for a while.

Farm is fine as of the beginning of fall. Most of my spread has sprinklers, and I'm at level 115 in the mines. Have been slow on making the farm productive; I only have 6 kegs, 3 furnaces, and four bee boxes. I REALLY like the new Andy character.

This week I've mostly been playing during breaks at work, my evening time going to writing or playing another game.

Trying to keep on top of the daily chores. I've added some more crab pots down at the beach, to catch more crab cake ingredients since I rarely have time to chase rock crabs and their ilk around. Messed up a bit when it came to turning over the cellar to a new cycle, which is why I start with the farthest reaches and going towards the stairs. That way it's easy to see when all of the casks have reached enough maturity.

I really need to make a few more cheese makers. The milk is starting to stack up more than I like. Also looking forward to next year when I should be able to start maturing cheese.

Switched another stack in my stack chest. Just 3 stacks of ancient fruit wine left there.

On Thursday I ran straight into the re-opening of the community center and watched Pierre kick Morris off the screen.

Funnily enough I saw Shane enter Joja Mart as if nothing had happened, while I myself could not get in through the boarded-up door and got an "out of business" message.
I bought a Price Catalog and the Old Slitherlegs book from the book vendor.

Pierre had the nerve to tell me that one shop was enough for a small town, and that the social pressure would prevent him from over-charging. I dumped 25 gold-star wheat into his shipping box. Let's see whether he's right about not overcharging. (Spoiler: he's not!)
I also looked at the fishing panel - all I need now is Glacierfish and Legend, void salmon and slimejack and the three Ginger Island fish.

Friday was Elliott's birthday. I had crab cakes, so that was an easy gift. I'd also bought a Complete Breakfast from Gus a few days earlier because I think I'm close to 8 hearts with Alex.
I ended up just running around gifting people stuff. I did max my friendship with Alex. Couldn't find Vincent or Harvey, so I'll look for them tomorrow.
Joja Mart got hit by lightning while I was sleeping and Willy sent me a letter about the back of his shop the next morning, while six villagers sent me recipes.

Saturday was another day for building relationships. I walked into Marnie's, intending to give her a pumpkin pie I had sitting around in a chest, but instead I got to watch Shane give Jas a new pair of slippers, and then Jas showed me the barn where Shane was raising blue chickens.
Then at last Marnie got her pumpkin pie. And I bought a blue chicken and called it Bluebell.

I went into the clinic to give Harvey a coffee, then went to Pierre's, where I once again ran into Harvey, working out with the ladies. And then I had to watch Pierre trying to scam people into paying 1,000 gold each for my 25 gold-star wheat.
I visited Penny and helped her clean up the trailer. Pam got upset and started yelling at us, so I went back out again. And then I went in again to taste Penny's disgusting new recipe. And then Pam finally tasted the potato juice I sent her last Spring, too. I guess my visit to that trailer was long overdue...

Sunday I just ran around, gave some gifts, went to the desert to get a few staircases and got more hardwood. Raccoon and his wife want dried coconut and wild plum jelly, so I'll make sure I give them some.
I also looked in on the old Joja building just to see what I'm going to need to fix it.

Made my 14th Luau a success. Kinda pained me that I had to leave the diamond and mystic tree sap harvest until the day after, but... At least I turned the roe/mushroom shed to a new cycle and gathered the stuff from the statues of endless fortune before the Luau, and tended to the jelly shed afterwards.

I got the 100 pumpkin challenge in Fall and am hustling to make it. I really haven't expanded as much as I usually do, so it'll be a challenge to meet them, especially since I am maintaining my habit of constantly planting wheat to build up hay reserves for when I get animals. Need to remember to save a pumpkin for Abigail; I forgot to do so for her birthday and wound up giving her a beer, so now she's my first five-star friend in this save. (Haley and Emily have been tied for the lead for the entire game, but I also keep giving Clint, Pierre, Harvey, and Gus beer or coffee to get them up. I like the idea of popping by when someone is working and giving them a refreshing beverage. I haven't tried giving Morris anything yet, though. (This is the Stardew Valley Expanded mod, so he's accessible.)
