1.6 Update What happened in your game today?

Whose idea do you think it was to turn their natural forage into a captive currency and force them to trade their labor to the farmer in exchange for an element of their natural diet? What must it be like to operate the parrot express? Don't blame the proletariat for the crimes of the boss! Just hit Qi in the head with exploding ammo!
I just blame the parrots who work for Qi. Yes, they learned it from somewhere, but they are still active participants. I'll excuse the one that escaped to Emily

Seems, you're not the biggest Ginger Island Fan, since you can't escape the parrots there... Maybe contact the Pirates or the Caldera monkey to install some traps and catch all the parrots and then take over the island 😉

Summer began. 7 stacks of iridium quality mayo have been replaced by more valuable stacks (and hid away until my end-of-year sale). Production of peach and pomegranate jelly has ended, so those incomplete stacks of jelly got sold off. Though I might've got some of the last peach still in the jars. The pickle shed's kind of in a pickle, at least the chest there, and I need to take the time to remove the incomplete stacks from seasonal single-harvest crops.

I did go to the Desert Festival, and the Flower Dance. The first to see if I can get some new outfits and gather ore in the Skull Cavern, and the other to keep Abigail happy.

Yeah Summer Year 2 is about the time I often start feeling like a victim of my own success, in that I'm so busy doing the AM chorin' around the farm that I can never get over to Ginger Island at a reasonable time. Can't let all my milk and eggs pile up, can I? Actually it's usually growing too many coffee beans and spending all my time feeding it back into the kegs that ends up being my undoing, but I think I learned my lesson about making a committed Coffee House Shed that needs to be checked every 2 days. Finally doing the "optimal" big starfruit field like the pros.

unfortunately:

And I'd just planted it, too. Luckily (or is it the way meteors are coded?) it missed my sprinklers and 2 of the 4 slain seeds didn't have speed gro on them anyway.

Otherwise things are well. Summer 10 has just concluded, so some of those Starfruit were ready for harvesting, shipped the high quality ones outright since the the oak tree tap farm for kegging is never as big as it should be. A gold pumpkin made Krobus into Maximum Friendship Villager #33 of 34, as technically the wifey now has extra hearts to fill. In this photo my farmer is still wearing the Goodnight Shirt he married her in (Maru sells it at her Desert Festival booth, seemed only fitting and I haven't gotten anything fancier yet anyway). Maru gave my farmer Stardrop #7 on the 9th, he gave her something off the top of the massive stack of gold strawberries that's been being hoaded since Spring 1 just for her for her birthday on the 10th.

Tomorrow's the 11th, Luau day. And like I said, the business of town friendship has been concluded. "won" the Luau (like all the other festivals) with a gold cauliflower last year. So this year it's time for some fun

heh heh heh heh heh

(and one staircase is all I need to make sure you see them again at the Valley Fair in Autumn, Lou. Don't ever forget who really runs this town, "Mayor.")

I think the meteors check if the 3x3 square is clear, then it lands on the 2x2 in the lower right. Weeds, seeds, crops, and walkways are no obstacle for them, but I think sprinklers and most other craftable stuff may be as much of an obstacle as buildings are.

With the hilltop farm, there are few possible 3x3 squares to land on from the start, and now I've made it really difficult for meteors to strike my farm.

I figured it was the code and not my good fortune because losing a tree + tapper to a lightning bolt along with two starfruit seeds despite having 18 lightning rods up tells my I'm clearly not that lucky.

Usually 15-16 lightning rods are enough for my purposes but on this run clearly not. Over 20 rods and still getting stuff fried this time. Worst lightning storms this side of Jupiter apparently.

Guess I'll make even more. Fine. Still need about 40 bats for the eradication goal, anyway.

The daily luck on the day of the thunderstorm kinda decides how many lightning strikes there are on the farm, but for some odd reason really good luck increases the amount of lighning strikes.

I have most of my tappers off the farm. One indicator on the farm (oak tree), then I tapped the oaks at the bus stop. I was lucky enough that all of the trees added to the bus stop by the green rain in year 1 were oaks, so I made sure to keep them.

Elliott decided to hide in his cabin for his birthday this year, because he didn't want to get his hair wet in the rain. I don't have 2 hearts with him yet... I guess I'll be eating those crab cakes myself, then. Or maybe I'll save them for next year, I'm sure they'll keep.

Yeah, at rainy days he often plays hard to gift 😏 but I can understand it, when you put such effort to your hair, you don't want it to washed down again... 😇

Diego took first at the Fair, spent entirely too much time spinning the wheel, but managed to walk off with the last Stardrop of the save, and his antepenultimate Rarecrow for the save: TurnipHead! (Witch and Snowman remain and then he gets the Strawubermensch recipe!)

I've done the Joja community updates (except the movie theater) and Willy has invited me to check out his boat. I haven't gone yet. I'm not feeling Ginger Island right now. Also, I don't have the batteries, or the iridium, so I might as well spend my hardwood on the raccoon. (How's that for a sentence only a Stardew player would understand?)

Winter is coming, so I think I should start making kegs, and possibly growing starfruit in the greenhouse. I haven't found an ancient seed yet. I have strawberries and coffee there at the moment.

Pierre was grumbling about losing to me at the fair. I guess Abigail is his daughter after all - she sounded just like him when moaning about losing the egg hunt. LOL!!
