1.6 Update What happened in your game today?

Wrapping up year 3 on Frump Farm and the last big thing on my to-do list is completing the final monster slayer goals for the adventurer's guild. I only have two monster types left: Magma Sprites/Sparkers & Pepper Rex. I have the Desert and Island obelisks built and plenty of farm totems (thanks to a happy blobfish pond), so farmer Wednesday can easily pop over to skull caverns or the volcano mines after all farm tasks are done for the day. This works great for the Magma Sprites, since they're usually easy to encounter. The Pepper Rex are a lot harder to find.

What I've been doing is selecting 'ladders appear more frequently' or 'bombs don't hurt you' whenever possible on the dwarf king statue, then taking a stack of spicy eel (courtesy of my lava eel pond) and a monster musk and heading to skull caverns for the afternoon/evening. This generally results in finding three to five lone Pepper Rex on random floors in the caverns.

I lucked out yesterday and hit an infested prehistoric floor that, thanks to monster musk, was loaded with Pepper Rex! I was slaying the second to the last one at 1:50 in-game and hoping I'd be able to take out the last one before farmer Wednesday passed out. Just then, the UPS that my tv & consoles are plugged into blares out an alarm that I've never heard and flashes an error code with "check manual" on its little lcd screen as it kills the power.

Got that fixed. Restarted the day in-game. Killed the five stray Pepper Rex on the way down, making better time when I reached the infested floor. Only this time, it's not a prehistoric floor. There's only one Pepper Rex among the slimes and serpents. 🤦🏽‍♀️

Still have twenty-two Pepper Rex to go...

!!!! I think this happened when all of our UPS at work began failing (because they were bought at the same time). Not fun.

Aw man, so close just to have it slip away. That’s a bummer. I know the feeling.

Just now, I woke up on Ginger Island and got on Willy's boat to go back to Stardew Valley. But it took me straight to the Bus Stop! I kid you not. I kept a video.

Is this something that happens?

I thought it might be nice to have a place where people can report on their farm's goings-on and the adventures of their farmer, kind of like this thread at The Sims forums. I'll kick things off!

I am still very new to the game and in mid-summer of my second year at Peacefield Farm. In the first year, I was able to learn the basics of the game, and start becoming marginally successful: by the end I was selling honey, mayonnaise, maple syrup, and jams in addition to regular crops. I also used the winter to (mostly) change my fields to be oriented around sprinklers. My goals for year two were multiple: one, get to the bottom of the mines (I'd gone from 1 to 105 in winter alone): two, expand the house; three, build more farm infrastructure like a stable, a barn, and a silo; and four, tackle the overgrowth on my little islands and expand my fields. As of this morning (Summer 15) things are going well on those fronts! I got to the bottom of the mines almost immediately, and have built a barn and filled it with four cows. I also just expanded the house, so now I can start crafting food! I had a bunch of rain days in the early summer, so I used those to attack the big island and have created a larger field there. I'm also using the little strip of land just north of the road that goes to Marnie's as an orchard. My immediate plan is to explore cooking. Farmwise, my plans are to get a silo so I don't have to plant so much wheat or buy hay from Marnie; expand the coop so I can get duck eggs; continue harvesting hardwood for a stable; and continue expanding on the second island. I want the silo first because there's a lot of grass on the big island that I don't want to waste.
Last night Penny wanted to update the bedroom, and asked me to remove my chests and such. My farmer awoke to find himself trapped in bed. I had to inventory lamps and plants until working my way free. Not sure why she decided to move the bed against the wall. It was a good luck day, so I decided to make a test run on the caves. Got to level 20 and realized -- I'd left a lot of my food/energy pickups in a chest when I was doing an all-day fishing spree. Whoopsie. Will try again.

I MADE IT TO YEAR 4! At some point in the winter, I hit a million gold in operating reserves. I also mounted my first serious run on the caves, annnnnnnnnnnnd I got so close. I was on level 88 with thirteen staircases left when it hit 2:00 and my dude just passed out. I lost 20+ bombs and used 30 staircases. :( On the bright side, I got enough iridium ore for 6 bars, and another pristmatic shard. I have 3 in chests and one was used for my galaxy sword. I was trying to hit a balance between using the ladders and throwing bombs to find ladders and slides. More bombs and less manual mining last time. Year 3 was a good year. I finished the community center in spring, hit a million in total earnings in the spring, and by its end had close to 3 mill in total earnings with a million in reserve. Once I get to 2 I will spring for Pam's house. Finally leveled up my last skill, which was combat. I never went back to Ginger Island -- was focused on iron, coal, and stone for staircases and bombs. Let's have a tour, shall we?

This is the main pad earlier during year 3. I've seen other people's farms looking very neat and tidy. Mine looks more rustic. I don't like the "nature conquered" look.

Immediately below it is Cow Island. Technically it's also home to goats, sheeps, and pigs, but the cows were there first. In time I may move them to the Big Island and move operations around, but Big Island is my main cash crop place.

Big Island, my primary cash crop place, and home to my horse Sayyid, several maple syrup jobs, and part of my orchard.

The Other Island, which I only developed in year 3, and Timber Island, now known as Bee & Timber Island, because on spring day 2 I carved out some space for more honeybees. I have been using this island for wood alone, and had it fully covered in trees.

This area is mostly about the orchard but I'm also growing rice here. Eventually it will be flowers and bees, I think.

Moving up is my greenhouse, coop, and Wino Row. Greenhouse has half cranberries, 1/2 strawberries, and 1/2 blueberries. Nothing deliberate there, it's just the seed stock I had on hand when I restored it in winter year 2. The bottom row that isn't covered by sprinklers does ancient fruit and starfruit. I plan to expand those into the main greenhouse area, but I like having a constant supply of fruit for my preserve bins and wino row. I like producing them more than just farming starfruit for money.

Moving back to the homestead, this is my secondary field, started early in year 1. I was using it to grow things for the community center, but in the summer and fall it's mostly a wheatfield.
If you plant your rice within 3 squares of the water you don’t need a sprinkler for them. Whey self water and grow faster.

Don’t know if this the right place to ask this question or not. I am in year 10, I cannot for the life of me get a Woodys secret book from chopping down trees. Also, my percentage of perfection is at 99% saying I need to craft something. I don’t know how to find out what I’m missing. All my efforts show I have crafted everything with the work bench. How do I know what to do? I am at a loss.any suggestions will be appreciated. I have advanced crafting information on. I really don’t want to buy 1% in wavers, but maybe its has glitched or something. I play on my Ipad. I have restarted many times too.
Thanks
