What’s Your Playstyle

I do a little bit of both, I'm also the "cautious" player and normally don't try to stay out too late (especially this time as I'm low on cash, I mean I'm keeping most of the stuff from summer into the end of summer where I can sell a lot and maybe keep some for later?) Also with the mines where if there too much I would bail, I never really died in the mines maybe 3 or 2 times. (One time I restarted as it was also late and the bleeding freaked me out, later found out it was just for dramatic affect.)

I honestly just make money and do challenges, they bring me the most fun and enjoyment out of anything in the game.
Currently I am working towards 1,000,000,000 g in hand and am working on a really optimized farm but that also fits my lazy criteria.
I'll probably run the farm for a full profit year once to net 224 million g but then just sleep the nights away and slowly rack up profits for no reason.

I am also trying a bit for a perfection asap run, I am not the fastest player and have my specialities but would love to get a 2 year perfection or at least close.

When my farm gets prosperous, I tend to get bored. As a result, I constantly start new farms and play various challenges. I love the early days of laboriously clearing out rock and twig, cherishing every mixed seeds bag I find, learning to fish, carefully watering plots one by one, getting excited that I can afford a whole packet of Cauli seeds...

I have a limited amount of time to play, so I do enough to make me feel like progress is being made. Other than that, I do all the things that are unique experiences to SDV that I really enjoy! Namely Skull Cavern, Fishing, and chatting with people here on the forums!

Although you might get one from fishing or artifact spots (worms), the only sure-fire way of acquiring them is to kill Pepper Rexes in Skull Cavern. And given that I'm there so frequently, I have extras :toothy:. If you want help with Skull Cavern, check out my guide!
I usually play Stardew Valley pretty casually at first, then slowly turn into a perfectionist once my farm starts coming together. I spend way too much time decorating, organizing storage, and giving animals funny names. Lately I’ve even been using name style ideas from to make my farmer and coop animals look more unique in screenshots. It actually makes multiplayer farms feel a little more personal and memorable when everyone has creative names.

On a normal farm: I get up every morning swearing I'll do the bare minimum of farm chores then run off to whatever task I picked for the day (fishing, mining, visiting GI or the desert, breaking geodes, completing quests, or even taking the time to talk to a bunch of folks), and end up taking so long running back and forth because I forgot X and Y things over at the farm house, and I was gonna... that I leave the farm by 1 or 2 at the earliest to go do the other thing. I try to mentally group tasks so I'm not trying to make the mountains and the secret woods in the same day. If I'm absolutely trying to do something that absolutely MUST be done early I will load my backpack the night before, so I can pet the animals, water anything that doesn't have a sprinkler, and run.

I still fall asleep outside the bed 90% of the time, though usually I at least make the farm, if not the house. The number of times that misclicking opening the door the first time left me crashing on my porch is... embarrassing.

On Rowan's farm (Hermit run with a bunch of mods including a stamina nerf): Water the plants and fill the cat bowl, pet the chickens and hedgehogs. Sit a while and watch the birdies at their feeder till my stamina recovers a bit. Wander the farm foraging until it runs out. Sit down on the bench on the beach, watch the waves and fishies, see if one of the butterflies lands on my head.. Decide if I'm gonna fish or mine or clean up more of the farm, and meanwhile eat some piece of forage so my stamina doesn't die out. Do the first wave of that task, then sit a while. Try to add things to my to do list for the day out. Continue mining/fishing once the stamina is back up a little. Go to bed, still somehow well after midnight.

Have fun :) every day i do my ingame chores and then do whatever i need to do that day. usually at the start i'm focused on getting ahead in the game, upgrading all my tools, fishing, and getting my hearts up. near the end i just go do whatever

Hehe, while I can't relate to the complete randomness(I usually remember what I need to do), I 100% relate to the mines thing. I feel like whenever I'm tight on time, the game decides not to give me a ladder. *insert crying*
for me its always running out of energy before I find the next ladder and don't have enough to eat with me.

chasing max friendship with as many NPCs as possible often to the detriment of long term spending/"perfection" goals. (On the other hand, having Friendship pretty much out of the way by the end of Winter 1 frees up so much time/resources to take care of the rest of 100%...). Personal best is 30/33 by the time Kent shows up.

[besides, the real hang up is the list of "daily chores" becomes so long that I invariably play Jack Of All Trades style and try to do a little bit of everything in a day instead of scheduling a pure fishing/mining/foraging/etc. only day. Dabble and Nibble, that's me.]

never turning down a Help Wanted request.

not having a Year 1 Flower Dance Partner is essentially a run-killer/Start New Game time.

I'm a casual player, but sometimes I get hung up on the last bit of an achievement. I will grind for days on end to get one specific thing, like the last artifact, or that last heart with the last villager... But on other days I will hang around the farm aimlessly rearranging chests and laying down pathways...

I think it's usually once a goal suddenly becomes achievable. Like I only need to befriend five more villagers, or ship a handful of items, or just find one or two gems... I waste a lot of time aimlessly moving stuff around, and then turn into a maniac for a few days, then go back to moving furniture around...
