Wanna display books

I'm playing on the Switch 2 Edition. I've completed the Perfection Tracker and don't want to marry an NPC until version 1.7 comes out, so I'm using split-screen to play both roles and have children, decorating my house and farm in preparation for the next version. In other videos, I've seen people placing books that improve skills when read on tables. No matter which button I press to place a book, I either retrieve the table or accidentally read it. Is it possible to display books using a mod?

I understand that mods cannot be installed on Switch or Switch2 systems. I apologize for misunderstanding the context. I simply want to enjoy farm life, and my current problem is how to place books. If you know how to place books, please let me know.
