I just moved from Windows to MacOS. I downloaded SV and a few other games again and met with the error "Unable to Sync" only on SV. I already tried to find save file/error logs, however, when I enter << ~/.config/StardewValley/ErrorLogs>> no folder came up.

I already tried all the recommended troubleshoot:
- Verify integrity of game files
- Turn off and on the Steam Cloud button on Preferences menu
- Clearing the download cache
All of which do not provide any solve to my issue

On the Steam Page, I can try to press <<Play>>, it would try to run, and say the cloud save is up to date, however it soon crash again, and the cloud error pops up again.

I attached below the picture of my Steam Page and the attempts of try to run the game.

I further tried to access the files location on my own, upon further inspection, there's no .app file type for Stardew Valley present in the local file? Is this normal?

On game page > Manage > Browse local files, there's only the Contents folder
In the Contents folder, there "MacOS" and another folder containing the resources of the game. No .app file anywhere in any of these two folders.

This is normal, yes. The .app on MacOS is not actually a file, but rather a folder containing the resources and content for the app (you can open other packages on your computer to see the same thing). Steam doesn't include the .app extension for games it installs.

The fail to sync issue is one of Steam, not exactly Stardew. For whatever reason, Steam is having issues uploading your save files (or downloading them from the cloud)

Hello again! I had done some digging around and more reading, I probably figure out some reasons on why my Steam unable to sync. Before this I played on Windows, now that I have moved to MacOS, it could be the reason why my cloud couldn't get to sync (although, SV is the only game that failed to sync while my other Steam games successfully synced).

I would like to ask for any further guidance of any possibility to just reset my whole SV file and start from scratch to enable me to play the game again.

I also include my cloud log file of the SV, in case it could help with solving the issue.

HELLLLOOO!!!

Just an update, I managed to solve the issue. I am guessing the main issue is the absences of "Saves" folder for Stardew Valley.

I tackle this issue by creating the said "Saves" file.
1. On the Finder app, press Cmd+Shift+G (or press "GO"> "GO TO FOLDER..."
2. On the search bar that pops up, enter "~/.config/"
3. If there's no "StardewValley" folder present there, hence you will need to create one
4. Go into the "StardewValley" folder, create a "Saves" folder

In the end, if you did everything right, you will have a "Saves" folder for Stardew Valley

To check for the folder, again press Cmd+Shift+G, enter "~/.config/StardewValley/Saves". Your farms and saves should pop up in there and your save files is created.

All your saves files need to be present in order for the game to launch as well, so if let's say your game crash at the start, probably give this a try as well.

Peace!

This was the exact fix I needed! I didn't even have an account before but I had to create one just to thank you for coming back and updating! Appreciate it so much. ❤
