Switch Unable to connect to friend's farms through Online Communication on Switch

Since 1.6.9 came out my friends and I have been trying to create new worlds so we can play it together. Unfortunately, we've only gotten a pop up that says something along the lines of "Unable to communicate with other consoles". We all have Nintendo subscriptions and we've tried quitting the game and re-loading back in, refreshing in general, having different members create the world, and refreshing our internet connections. Nothing seems to be working.
