Switch Tool has disappeared overnight

(Switch) My hoe has gone missing overnight. The game crashed and when I restarted it’s gone. I have checked all my chests, my fridge, with Clint, with the item recovery service and with the lost and found and it’s not anywhere. It hasn’t been sent to me the next day. It’s completely gone so now I can’t farm. I don’t want to restart as I’ve been playing for ages.

How do I fix this?

How do I fix this?

Add a player to your game and you can get a new set of tools, Don't know how the switch version works but perhaps you can run a quick split screen, you wont get your upgraded tool but it beats losing the progress ... Hope it helps
