Time too fast in coop

Maybe it's just me, but since time doesn't pause during cut scenes or mini games while playing coop, I end up losing half a day each time I stop to address ...issues.. with the chest organization of my child. Same happens if my child has to stop to read the cut scene dialog, which is not very easy (quick) on their part. I wish there were a way to slow down time. Am I alone in this regard?

I 1000% depend on time stop and not having this in co-op is shocking and nerve-rattling. I never want to waste the time organizing. OK I never want to anyway but now I have like the bestest excuse not to ever! And doing any kind of timed thing like a Skull Cavern run or the Deep Sea Fishing Expedition end in about half the time.

And mostly I just need that timestop to think. That takes me a long time and thinking of what I'm doing is like half my day. Not to mention Fishing! It takes me forever to hook some Fish and that means wasting in-game hours just reeling in that stoopit Eel!

Your best bet would be to install a time slowing mod (hmmm those are quite popular, how could that be?) but only if you're on PC/Mac/Linux. And maybe Android, I'm never sure there. But not on iOS or Console though, which is where a lot of players are.

You can pause the game as the host, but I’m not sure if you’ll be able to look into chests or if the cut scenes continue to play.

Yeah, I definitely use them to think too! But, we don't use mods. Don't know how, really, or if I'd want too. I kinda feel like it would be cheating... But we use Switch mostly anyway.

I try to avoid co-op for this reason, i hate skipping cutsceens because time continues while watching them. Especially the ones that happen at night, like Linus raiding the bins in town. I end up exiting out of the sceen to find that its 2am and ive collapsed.

Though i can understand why time continues to flow. If it didn't people would exploit it by having one person stay in a cutsceen while the other/orhers fish, craft Artisan goods, mine, farm ect. They'd have most things completed in a day by exploiting the cutsceen using a second account.

It would be nice if time just ran a LITTLE bit slower in co-op, or if there was some way to watch the cutscenes outside of time (though the other "fair" thing of pausing the game for EVERYONE while a cutscene played might get really annoying for everyone else who had to wait for your cutscene to finish. I find that when I'm playing co-op with my kids or husband, I tend to just hit "SKIP" on the cutscene. Which takes away the story part of the game. :(
