The Riverland Farm Needs a Buff

It's been a good while since a thread about this was last posted, and given that it's a common suggestion, I decided to offer up my voice on it. Anyways, I think the riverland farm needs a serious buff. I love the aesthetics of this farm type, but I think the odds of catching algae or trash are way too high for the amount of farming area that we're sacrificing. As it stands right now, it's still much more practical to go fishing elsewhere if this farm type is chosen. I saw a suggestion as to how this could be fixed a while back that I really liked. Maybe the odds of catching fish as opposed to algae or trash on this farm type could go up as your fishing skill goes up? By the time you reach level 10, the odds could be pretty much exactly the same as anywhere else. This could add more of an incentive for the player to increase their fishing skill while playing with this farm type, I think.

I get what you're saying, and it does make sense for the riverlands farm to have little to no trash. But ultimately, you'd have to expect some trash to get washed down the river onto your farm.

I have a riverlands farm where I'm in year 7 and I rarely ever catch any trash when I fish. It's the crab pots that tend to get the most trash, but I don't use those too often.

Well... except the Riverlands farm doesn't work like a lot of the other farms. There isn't a "X percent of the time you only get trash" function for the Riverlands map. 70% it's town river fish, and 30% of the time it's Cindersap pond fish... that's it. The amount of trash you accumulate on that farm is solely dependent on the depth you're casting into and your fishing skill level.

Maybe crab-pots could simply also catch fishes at the riverland farm. This way one gets an extra no other farm type has and it fits to this farm type.

Except the Riverlands Farm does have something no other map has... the chance to catch a good variety of (though not the rarer) freshwater fish with no check to see if you just get trash instead, like literally every other farm map. Well, except the Beach Farm, but there you catch ocean fish, not freshwater... and I'm pretty sure you can't catch the rarer fish there too. (Like I've never caught things like eel or pufferfish on my Beach Farm, though oddly enough there is at least one ocean crab pot fish that you can catch with a fishing pole on the Beach Farm.)

I don't think I've caught a pufferfish on the beach farm before, but I have caught eels and a super cucumber. Can't say I was expecting either.
