The more you are friends with a NPC that have a shop, the lower are their prices

Like you would have a pretty rare item in your wallet, maybe call it the Discount Card, that would make you have a discount at each heart you get with Willy, Marnie, Pierre, Sandy, Robin, the Dwarf, Clint, Gus, and Krobus in their respective shops, the friendlier is the NPC (I don't include the Wizard in here because technically you don't buy items directly from him; neither do I include Alex, Maru and Harvey because they're the date-able ones and friendship lead to more than simply friendship ^^)

Each NPC would have a friendliness value attached to them (the NPC with the least friendliness would be the Dwarf and Krobus), and the discount you'd get from them would be calculated with the formula:
• (FriendshipHearts * Friendliness) + 3

If you have 10 hearts with Krobus, you would have (10 * 1.4) + 3 = 17% discount, which means that you could get the Return Scepter for 1,660,000G, which is I think far more reasonable than 2,000,000G.

In the later game you have tons of ways to get money. So I see no need for discounts. But I am not against it - could be an option for a more easy game maybe.
