Switch Switch ALL Animals Disappearing

Year 3 Riverlands Farm. Co-Op game. The majority of our animals have disappeared. They are gone from our barn/coop and gone from the animal log. We can’t delete the barn because it says that it is still full. We also can’t purchase more animals for the same reason. I’ve sent an email, and have received no response.

All Switch edition Stardew Valleys are experiencing a lot of bugs right now.
This is due to the porting team messing up some code while working on the patch for the 1.6 update.
They have identified the problem and are working to fix it right now as I talk.

You can expect a bug fix to come out very soon!

Was the missing animals bug introduced in the 1.6 patch update?
If so then I bet it was the same part of code that was messed up which is causing this, a little bit of code messed up goes a far away.

Unless this bug has already been known before the 1.6 patch update

I would avoid promising quick fixes for bugs the team hasn't explicitly mentioned and just do it for ones like the glitched text and the crashes, which CA tweeted about.

It most likely is being worked on. I just don't like speaking on behalf of the team and promising it's gonna get fixed soon when we don't know that for sure. I hope it's fixed as soon as possible, but not all bugs have a quick and easy fix.

I'm a developer and I know about these problems, it doesn't seem like you're a developer so you probably don't know how far a little bit of code messed up can go

CA just tweeted that the hotfix patch came out, and again, it only mentions the text issues and the crashes. That's why I didn't want to make false promises to people saying that other issues were gonna be fixed "very soon" when we don't know the full picture.

As far as I am aware, it was not part of the Switch patch problem. You'll find reports here about the issue dating back to the release of the 1.6 update for console, and it has been a fairly elusive issue that is unfortunately still being investigated by the team.

Xander is correct to not assume that it will be promptly fixed -- the porting team is working on it, yes, but it's a rather rare issue that will not be fixed as part of the hotfix that just came out.

In Xbox, some animals and my cat disappearerd. They no longer show in my list of owned but also do not let me replace them.
I have moved the barns and coops and perpetually filled water dish.
I cannot sell them, replace them, refill or demolish the buildings while the phantom place holders exist.
They also do not produce animal by-product.
As this has been touched on for the Switch, is it also a known glitch for the XBox?
