Hi ive never played SVE BEFORE getting the sewer key, ive always done modding after the bulk of the game, and I keep getting mixed answers. I donated 60 items to gunther, i reached the end of the mines and i got the cutscene of marlon going into the sewer. i have 2 hearts with him, but i am still in year 1. i keep hearing you have to be in year 2, then someone else said year no longer matters, but that you need 5 hearts with marlon AND rain to get the sewer key. im just wondering what of this is true or not because i just want the sewer key

I think it doesn't matter if you are in Year 1 or Year 2.

I know how to get the key in an unmodded stardew game but i am playing SVE, (stardew valley expanded) which changes how you are able to get the key and you get it from Marlon now.

UPDATE: SEWER KEY ACHIEVED. Stardew EXPANDED VERSION

1. donate 60 items to gunther
2. get 5 hearts with marlon
3. head towards AG (adventurer's guild)
other notes:
4. year does not matter. i was in year 1 in winter
5. i had community center completed already
6. it was NOT raining when the event was triggered


when you get to the AG a cut scene will occur of marlon on a boat where he informs you it is time for you to meet krobus and he brings you into town where you are introduced to him in the sewers. after this cutscene another follows in which you are inside the AG and he gives you a copy of the sewer key.

note: i am updating this here in case anyone is confused or stuck like me, i had been getting so many mixed answers online that i was unable to figure out what steps needed to be taken and which i could ignore. i hope this helps, the game version that i am on is 1.6.15. some people on other forums stated it had to be raining, or that you needed 2 or 4 hearts with marlon, and maybe that could also help trigger the event. i believe there is a way to check the changelog of what the requirements are for this event exactly but i am a dunce and have no idea how to achieve that. i am a basic novice level mod slurper.

That mod was my least favorite it made things so much harder. It was prettier and I liked not being the only farmer and more characters, but overall game play was way harder so I went the cbj cheats mod route. I’m so glad you figured it out. I was way too dumb to figure that mod out without the cbj mod.

Honestly it felt like A LOT all at once and its why I always downloaded it after the main game was finished because it was all too much info for my brain to process and I was really determined this time, lol. Theres already a large task to take on in the very beginning of the game so navigating so much more felt like I was lost at sea so I dont blame you
