My friend and I were testing some things with bombs and realized that if I went to the festival and brought up the "Waiting for players" notification and then my friend kills me with a bomb and goes in himself, he gets teleported to the festival while I respawn at the hospital. For me, time is frozen and I can do whatever I want, although doors will be locked unfortunately due to the event. Some villagers will be outside so I can interact with them. I can also go to the event and it should be normal. If my friend tries to start the event before I'm there (We just did the ice fishing festival), then the game gets soft-locked because even though I can go to the event after, I won't be able to talk to Lewis and on his end it will always be waiting for players, thus forcing one of us to quit.
