1: Tappers once could work at stumps! This feature was removed in version 1.1. I really like this feature, tree canopy really blocks the view, hope there will be a mod that can continue this feature

2, In the early version, Slime Hutch was 11×6, it was reduced to 7×4 in the 1.6 version update. That's why there's a blank space next to it, it gets smaller

3 Slime Hutch was the best choice for storage item and brewery before adding the shed. It requires simple materials, has large space and does not need to be upgraded.

5 There was no cellar before version 1.1

6 The mysterious door. In the early version, there is a door hidden behind the tree below the standard farm, it is usually blocked by tree and can only be seen clearly in winter. Many people was speculate what special purpose it has.

Oh man I could list so many old features I used and remember now that are long gone.

One thing though, before sheds and then big sheds barns were usually used for storage, they were more expensive but fit a lot more so most lategame farms just had lots of barns for their machines

I miss stumps yielding seeds. Best source of renewable food early on and could use upper wood of trees for construction and clear them blocking view. That was just patched out in 1.6

Also before 1.5 there was just a focus on the valley and the farms growth. Now everyone hangs out on Ginger Island and there is all of this new focus on perfectionism and getting all achievements and rewards. No longer focused on farm and the simple evaluation of Grandpa and how well the farm is doing.

Back at the very beginning, berries used to be the best thing ever. They were worth a lot more, and because Farming XP from harvesting them is calculated off the base sell price, you got lots more XP too, so leveling up was easier. And once you'd reached Farming 9 to unlock seed makers, running your harvest of cranberries through a bunch of them had two massive benefits
  1. virtually doubling your money in 20 in-game minutes when you sold the seeds
  2. getting Ancient Seeds, which was also more awesome back then than it is now, because Ancient Fruit also sold for a lot more than it does now

On the down side, you used to have to dig up tons of clay if you wanted to build your fortune using kegs
