hi, how to get to the next level of the skull cave? ive tried killing all the enemies, placing staircase and breaking rocks, it doesnt seem to work

If you are talking about the cave next to the quarry with the flying skulls, it only has one level.

Are you in the Skull Cavern in the desert or in the Quarry Mine by the quarry? The Quarry Mine is only 1 level.

Very common mistake! The mine by the quarry is more like a maze, leading to the statue at the end. Try interacting with the statue!

I did the same thing! It has a skull at the beginning, so I thought it was the Skull Cavern.

I also mistook that mine for the Skull Cavern early on, because of the flying skulls.

I never confused the Quarry mine with the Skull Caverns, but the only reason for that is because I started playing Stardew Valley before the Quarry mine was added to the game. Otherwise, I would have probably mistook the two of them like most of you.
