Imagine you are married and living with a husband or a wife who already has a pet before your marriage.
Technically, you are destined to live with his/her pet.
Similar to Abigail, she has her pet which is a guinea pig.
Also, Emily and Shane have bibs.
Alex, on the other hand, has his dog named Dusty.

Suddenly, I started liking Dusty, the dog.
I think the dog is so funny and cute.
It would be great if Alex brought his dog to my farm if I married him.

I like the idea of partners bringing more personal things to the farm. I think its easier to program this with small things like a guinea pig enclosure (edit: the guinea pig is already part of Abigails room extension). But maybe CA & the devs can enhance the spouse outside area. So Alex dog can have a dog pen there, Emily can have a small clothing store, Abigail an adventure corner or spirit shrine, Elliott a mini bookstore and so on...
Such "public" area could also be just outside the farm at the bus stop, so it doesn't influence the farm program logic.

I think Maru is also petless as I don't remember references to anything when I married her in my MP save. Unless telescopes qualify as pets.

yeah, you are right I forgot Dr. Harvey.....I guess his mustache is qualified as a pet.

I don't think Maru needs a pet per say. I can see her getting told by Robin and Demetrius to go out and make a friend............it goes horribly wrong and she makes a mecha rockcrab on its was to lay waste to Zuzu city

Abby does not bring her guinea pig, it stays in her room at her parents house. She gets a new one which she names David junior (the original is just named David).
