I just stop playing, with the intention of returning to continue my farm "next time".

When that time comes, I always start a new farm though. As a result, I've had many farms close to perfection, but have never attained it once. My problem is, once everything becomes easy to get and money is no longer a struggle, I get bored. And since I don't like rushing myself, I just enjoy myself until one day I don't pick up the game again.

My version of perfection is just the fun I had along the way. 🥰
Same here tbh. Got close once, maybe even did it, but it stops being fun when I roll around in money and nothing really matters any more. The game becomes a chore. Suddenly 2.5 years pass, like it did this time. But now I'm addicted again, and pass out from lack of sleep way later than 2am 😂

Make a good sacrifice to Quetzalcoatl, Huitzilopochtli and Tonatiuh. I'm kidding :dwarf: I have a lot of things to do. I'll do the same, close the game, keep trying other things and maybe I'll feel like starting a new save. Nothing fancy.

Considering the painful process making kegs and dehydrators to get money. I don't feel like starting a new save.
I stop harvesting anything in current save file as I have enough money and nowhere to spend the money.
The next step for me is to decorate my farmhouse to make it more beautiful.

Nothing. I'm not a Youtuber who creates content and makes the conscious decision to not play the game anymore. Like with any other evergreen I had before, it will just tickle out. I will not want to play it one day and that one day becomes eternity.

Not leaving the game, but quitting and deleting a farmer, I usually try to screenshot the farm and/or other locations looking their best (Usually something I've been doing as I go anyhow, but the last one I try really hard to have as an "everything in full bloom and full decor" thing, not just a way to look at what's done and needs doing. I regret strongly not doing this with my first farmer ever. With Jules, her big farewell post-perfection was the spring Flower dance, so I saved images of the villagers she was talking to at the dance, and her outfits, and shinies. With Satsuki, I think I only took screenshots of the farm and house, and lose-ups on her, but with her I more petered out quietly, already planning my next farmer, and I don't think I had an official final festival.

I don't think I'm going to stop playing entirely anytime soon, though. I'm running two farmers now as is (plus one in Coral Island), and have concrete plans for the next *3* concepts.

I will stop playing Stardew only if it becomes pay to play or Apple requires subscription to play. I don’t think Ape would do it, but I could see Apple being jerks about it, or removing it entirely. I have the buy once mobile version not arcade. But occasionally things get removed if they are just taking up space and not bringing in money. I could see that happening in 5-10 years maybe if no new updates to game. Also if no new updates for that long might get too buggy to play or unable to play on whatever high tech devices are sold at that time if game isn’t updated for so called “modern” technology of that future time. I will be very sad about it. Cause honestly it’s the only game I play indefinitely these days. Most every day a little bit. Many days a lot of bit. So many infinite ways to play even though I can’t afford much, there will always be Stardew until there’s not.

BTW you didn’t make an option for being too addicted and loving the game so much you can’t stop playing no matter if you tried. 😋

That is okay to move the save file to Cloud storage and buy a new PC or mobile device.
Dont worry you will lose your memory in Pelican Town.
